Twelve Years Af Pinnell enior Class History As the class of 1958 entered Pinnell High School in the fall of 1954, we looked through the window and saw stretched before us four long years of hard work before our ultimate goal, graduation, could be attained. To guide our olass's efforts throughout our first year, John Dlnsmore, Mary Alice Randle, Lee Duff, and David Robertson, were elected as class of- ficers. Mrs. Capllnger was our class sponsor. Entering our Sophomore year John Dlnsmore was elected President, with Mary Alice Handle, David Robertson, and James Acton also officers. when Mrs. Caplinger res1gned,Mrs. Gadsln took her place as our sponsor. As Juniors we bundourselves one year closer to graduation. we worked feverishly to build up our treasury for the Senior trip. David Robertson, Mary Alice Randle, Linda Rucker, and Jerry Brownlee, were elected as offic- ers. Our high light of the year was our Junior play, 'Deadly Ernest.n September, 1957, found us electing John Dinsmore as President assisted by Jerry Brownlee, Linda Rucker, and David Robertson. Our Senior play, 'Heap Big Cake,u was a success. At the end of March we found ourselves bound for Washington D.C. and New York. Then looking through the window, we could see that it was not the end but only the beginning, for April was here, with final exams, and our grad: uatlon. enior Class Prophecy 'Strato Limited 133 for Venus leaving in five minutes from platform SL. All passengers report,' blared the loud speaker. 'That'smw'fl1ght. I'd better report,' I say to myself. Incldentally, my name ls David W. Robertson, owner and president of Satellite Advertising with advertising satellites ln every planet's orbit. As Iboard the ship, Iglance at the crew roster and notice the sh1p's captain is George Wethington, a member of my graduating class and now a pilot for Strato Airlines. After I'm seated a trim stewardess in a beautiful silver and green uniform passes by. She is Marjorie Duncan, also a former classmate. Picking up a paper I begin to read about Zerta, an outlaw planet, captured by troops led by General Lester Davis of the Unlversal Armed Forces. In another item, Marilyn Lottes, noted educator, demands double pay for teaching two-headed Martians. I turn to the features page and read the latest gossip, taken from the complete solar system by the noted columnist, Carolyn McCla1ne. Flashing by the sh1p's window is one of my advertising satellites, bearing the legend, 'Rainbow Fashions created exclusively by Mary Alice Rand1e.' We pass an interplantary fuel stat1on,,-one of the Lee Duff chain that started with one station on earth in 196Q and now numbers more than 1,000 stations. I turn on my private television set and see John Dlnsmore, noted traveler and author, and his guest, Miss Eleanor J. Dodson, successor to Emily Post. They are discussing table manners for ten-armed Plutonians. After the Dlnsmore Show, Iglance around the ship at the dignitaries I notice Representative Linda Rucker, of the Solar Congress, discussing a problem with Ovid Scott, noted uranium tycoon and lndustralist. Seated behind them is James Acton, agricultral advisor to the Solar president. Beside Mr. Acton is his assistant, Norman Bennington. They are currently engaged in filling the canals on Mars with water for ir- rlgation. In the rear of the ship with his coat and hat pulled around.h1s face is Gerald Brownlee, secret agent for the Earth. He is on his way to ln- vestlgate revolutionary activities of the Venusian water rat. As we slow for the Venusian space port, a Universal air police ship pulls up beside us. Printed on its side is 'Manned by captain John W. Randle Traffic Squad.' This trip has brought back many fond memories of my school days on earth, but now I must hurry off to a business appointment. f ,U fp, ,f , f' I . f If . 451' ex . :N X v4 Senior Sggpghofg ' , W, 1' f f4-' 5 ' E- C - Z .
