CLASS HISTORY Our yesterdays are gone forever but they will not be for- gotten. We will never forget the years we spent in school and we will always remember the many good times we have had during the last twelve years. In the year of 1939, four members of the 1951 graduating class climbed aboard a school bus for the first time on their way to Pinnell School with our parents hope that we might gain some knowledge. Hardly before we had realized it we had passed through the grades and we were now called Freshmen, going into our high school years. me began to choose our own subjects, the boys were offered the opportunity to play ball, but were never compelled to: our class plays, our parties, and our school paper were there if we cared to enter into them. Our Freshmen officers were: President, Irene Acton: Vice President, Bob Ross: Secretary and Treasurer, Margaret Walker: Reporter, Mardella Summers: Sponsor, Mr. J. B. Bowen. The Sophomore officers were: President, Irene Acton: Vice President, Bob Ross: Secretary and Treasurer, Betty Turner: Reporter, Margaret Walker: Sponsor, Mr. J. B. Bowen. Our Junior officers were: President, Bob Ross: Vice President, Irene Acton: Secretary and Treasurer, Margaret Walker: Reporter, Betty Castner: Sponsor, Mr. J. B. Bowen. During our Junior year we were a very busy class. We sold concessions, we took part in two class plays, Socially Ambitious and Spring Fever. The Juniors and Seniors in the spring of 1950 went on a trip to Kentucky and saw many places of interest. We also entertained the Seniors at a Junior- Senior banquet at the Frogpond. Now we are Seniors and are about to conclude a very interesting and long period of twelve years. Our class officers are: President, Irene Acton: Vice President, Margaret Walker: Secretary and Treasurer, Betty Castner: Reporters, Betty Turner and Bob Ross: Sponsor, Mr. J. B. Bowen. Irene Acton, Betty Turner, Bob Ross and Margaret Walker were the original four who started at Plnnell in the year of 1939. At the opening of our Junior year we were very glad to welcome our classmate, Betty Castner who entered from Pittsboro. This is a brief history of our twelve years here at Pinnell, we hope we have made a small dent in Pinnell history and will always be remembered. Pape 10
