Pink Hill School Improves Through PTA Projects The P.T.A. has as its primary aim to improve all phases of the school through cooperative school-community sponsored programs. Worthwhile P.T.A. programs this year included a classroom visitation by the parents to understand the child's school day, a discussion of school consolidation, an airing of social problems of teen-agers, and an explanation of the Lenoir County Guidance Program. The Hallow- een Carnival this year was a great success because the men in the community entered wholeheartedly into a Miss America Pageant. Proceeds from this event go for school necessities. The most charming candidate in the Miss America Pageant was Miss Frankie Wiley. The officers of the P.T.A. for this year are Mrs. Marsha Brewer, President; Rev. Gene Hood, Vice-President; Mrs. Jack Heath, Secretary; and Mrs. Geraldine Simpson, Treasurer. Beauty and grace are exhibited by none other than Miss Wilma Tyndall and Miss Jetherine Hill. As time progresses so does the tense feelings of the con- testants. This one last glimpse reveals the full beauty of the lovely creatures. MISS AMERICA Miss Haywoodia Howard 4
