These unsung heroes are responsible for our balanced and nutritious diets. They are Mrs. Hazel Murphy, Mrs. Esther Kennedy, and Mrs. Carrie Weston, man ager. School Personnel Keeps Up the Daily Routine Daily routine is met by a staff of people who make it their job to keep every minute detail in the correct order, These duties vary from stoking the furnace, to sweeping the floors, to transporting students to and from school, to serving hot lunches to the five hundred or more students. Hilda Mitchell and Elsie Carr are cleaning the reception room in preparation for the November P.T. A. meeting. Mr. Morris Lee, school custodian, can be re- lied upon to do any job effectively and efficiently. The bus drivers are a group of responsible young people who take over 500 students to and from school each day. They are Doug Taylor, Janice Noble, Charles Harper, Linda Heath, Scotty Wiley, Vicki Howard, and Lar= ry Weber.

30 Beta Club The Pink Hill Chapter of the National Beta Club considers character, scholarship, and service in the awarding of its membership. The scholastic requirement is that the individual have a scholastic average of 90 and maintain an average of 88. Each year the Beta Club undertakes many use- ful projects, for financial gain as well as for helping underprivileged families in our community. These projects are supported through a White Christmas, dances, suppers, and selling school bracelets. The highlight of the Beta year comes in April when many of our members attend the conven- tion that is held annually in Ashville or Raleigh. The club strives to send its entire membership to this convention. Beta Club Accents Scholarship
