Vocational Subjects Develop Creativity and Teach Precision Two courses offered to increase vocational skills are home eco- i! nomics and vocational agriculture. A four year course is offered in both, and a graduated program of improvement can be seen from year to year, After four years of either course, one can be skilled in homemaking or agriculture, These courses are elective. Vocational agriculture is taught by Mr. John Worthington. In this course farming techniques are begun as well as a modified course in the use of machinery. Senior boys study welding and machine repair. Basel Hildreth and Kenneth Grady are shown doing some repair on a lawnmower engine. This card catalog stand for the elementary library was built in the shop, Jimmy Strickland and Marion Smith put on the finishing touches.

Typing students spend many hours doing condition- ing practices to tone up their speed and accuracy. . . i Rosemary Taylor concentrates on all the minute Skill Subjects Train. things that make a good typist. for Business Business courses are not required for graduation, but many students enroll in them, especially typing, for personal use only. However, should a student pursue all of the courses offered he would be further prepared for many office jobs. We offer full courses in typing, book- keeping, and shorthand to insure students of a good foundation on business procedures, One must concentrate and use every available minute Wisely in order to do well in typing.
