Superintendent of Lenoir County Schools H. H. Bullock has accomplished much for our school system in the past years. His accomplishments include massive building projects as well as supplying the necessary classroom materials, MR, JOHN K, WOOTEN Mr. John K. Wooten is the new and competent assistant superintendent of Lenoir County Schools. He has spent very much time with the schools in MR. H. H. BULLOCK the county in their program of evaluation. Lenoir County School Board County Guidance Department These civic minded men meet once a month with the im- Guidance counselors help us to understand our- portant task of making decisions for all of the Lenoir County selves. They furnish us information about colleges, Schools, give special tests, interpret tests, and aid in job placement. Mrs. Grace Carter, school secretary, ful- fills many important functions in our school life. Upon her capable shoulders fall the tasks of keeping record cards up-to-date, publishing daily bulletin notices, answer- ing the many phone calls, and keeping everyone in our school posted on routine. Principal Frank Wiley, a dedicated and able edu- cator, shows an untiring and active interest in school life and student advancement and an un- ceasing effort to promote scholastic achievement. Our Administrators Are Responsible for Our Efficient School Programs The local school board is the guiding force by which our entire school system functions. With the welfare of the school and the student body in mind, the school board employs able administrators and staff and provides a worthwhile academic and extra-curricular program. The members are J. B. Noble, Currin Howard, Chairman W. E. Brewer, Quentin Stroud, and A. W. Turner. 16

At Pink Hill we offer courses in general science, biology, chemistry and physics, These courses offer a good background for advanced study. Actual viewing is much more effective than the best descriptive sentence, Gerald Pickett studies the vascular bundles in a plant stem under a micro- scope so that his biology drawing can be completed. Chemistry experiments along with intense classroom study lay a firm foundation for many professions in this modern space age. Mr. Thomas Salter is the in- structor in this course. Our most advanced science course is physics. Here Larry Weber, Steve Ward, Johnny Turner, and Ralph Herron experiment to find out how the forces of nature act and how we can control them,
