by Crowning of the Queen Homecoming, an annual occasion at PHS, brings back many former teachers, graduates, and students. The proceedings associated with the day include a pep rally, a bar-b-que supper, a junior varsity basketball game, a varsity girls and boys basketball game, and at the half- time of the boys' game, the crowning of the Homecoming Queen. Nominees for queen are nominated by the senior class and voted on by the entire student body. This year's nominees were Dianne Taylor, Christine Wiley, and Evelyn Murphy. The queen's court consisted of freshman attendants Marsha Turner and Eunice Taylor, sophomore attendants Rosemary Taylor and Susan Murphy, and junior attendants Janice Faye Grady and Polly Westbrook. This year's games were with Southwood High School, and winning the games added the climax to a day filled with many thrills. Half-time ceremonies of the boys’ game featured the crown- ing of the queen by co-captains of the team Johnny Turner and Ralph Herron. The traditional bar-b-que supper had two special guests for the evening, Superintendent H. H. Bullock and Mrs. Bullock. They enjoyed the meal with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wiley and Mrs. Lynwood Turner Recent graduates Jackie Perkins, L. H.
