Ya Hoo Reporter Visits Fire Area Responding to whispered instructions, “Go be a reporter and see what’s happening”, I witnessed the fire last Thursday that burned along the Kansas City Southern railroad tracks for one mile from the Old Marksville Road back of Louisiana College to the edge of the P. H. S. football field. Lack of oU at the hub of the wheel of a diesel freight train created a “hot box” from which sparks flew as train men were cleaning it. That was the cause of the blase. Henry Terrell; a sophomore, and Miss Lessie Moore were the firs to realize the extent of the fir and turn in the alarm around 11:30 A. M. The hills of dirt on the edge of the field, formed by removing the dirt for the railroad bed, or by leveling off the school ground, were covered with Waring scrub oak and tall grass. Here we see quarterback Philip Washington carrying the ball on a quarterback sneak. PINEVILLE vs. LEESVILLE A strong Wampus Cat team from Leesvillc edged by Pineville 7 to 6 to give the Rebels their first defeat of the season. It was a very interesting, close game affording plenty of excitement for the fans. “T” Ferrier is seen crossing the goal line for a touchdown which was called back because of an offside penalty against the Rebels. PINEVILLE vs. MANY The Pineville Rebels’ next foe was the Tiger team of Many. Rebels met Tigers in Tiger territory and emerged victorious by a score of 26-0. Philip Washington is shown gaining yardage for the Rebel team. PI NEVILLE vs. MANY Later in the Many game, “T” Ferrier, carrying the hall around left end, helped to demonstrate the Rebel power that existed even in rainy weather such as prevailed during that game. PINEVILLE vs. WEST MONROE This game held in West Monroe was a battle of Rebels against Rebels. The Scarlet and Gray of Pine-ville completely outclassed the Blue and Gray of West Monroe. “T” Ferrier is pictured going over for the first touchdown of the game on a pass from Washington. PINEVILLE vs. WEST MONROE A second shot of the Pineville Rebels’ first experience with an afternoon game shows Philip Washington going over for another touchdown on a thirty-five yard run. The final score of this game was 33-0 in favor of the Pineville Rebels. PINEVILLE vs. ST. JOHN The Rebels met the Blue Flyers from St. John’s of Shreveport on home ground. The- efforts put forth by the Flyers were to no avail and the Rebels rolled to a 26-0 victory. Our camera catches an off-tackle play. PINEVILLE vs. NATCHITOCHES The Pineville Rebels met the powerful Natchitoches Red Devils on Natchitoches territory. Both teams were strong and both were working for a win but the Red Devils managed to edge by the Rebels with a final score of 18-13. This shot catches Philip Washington passing to Bill Moore. PINEVILLE vs. LaSALLE The Pineville Rebels, once again on home ground, were out to win their first Homecoming game. LaSalle’s Tigers played a good game, but they couldn’t hold out against the victory-minded Rebels. The final score favored the Rebels 19-6.
