I if Board of Education We at Pine Valley feel that we are indeed fortunate to have a loyal and community-minded group of men as the nine members of our Board of Edu- cation. We appreciate very much the efforts that have been put forth to provide new courses for us, such as, Industrial Arts and Driver Training, and while our new school seems to have been put in the background for the time being, we know that is is only temporary. We are confident that men who are so vitally interested in our cultural, scholastic and social welfare will find a way to put this project across. We pledge our support and promise to do our utmost to cooperate in any way with our Board to keep Pine Valley Central the best school in the state. THE STUDENTS OF PINE VALLEY CENTRAL Seated L. Football Pine Valley had a good year in Football this year, winning our league and then losing a game to Cassadaga Valley in real raw winter weather for the B county championship. Before we got a chance at Cassadaga Valley we won games over Panama, Sherman, and Forestville in league contests and lost a thriller to Ripley, a high classed team. Richter, R. Cole, D. Marsh. There were about 25 boys who turned out for practice, with only three lettermen back from '50, Phil Danker, Dick Gaylord, and Tom Fox. Coach Gorton had a real rebuilding job and went about it by finding six other fellows who could play football. They were lim Berg, Ray Richter, Tom Dorman, Bob Cole, Rich lngersoll, and Bill Fuller. Of this group Coach Gorton made a real find in lim Berg, who after he got started ran wild and ended up one ot the best sixernan football halfbacks in the league. Y J, . B X -+... Chorus JUNIOR Cl lORUS Well, it's chorus time again and every- one gets in the mood by practicing the scales. The chorus meets every Monday and Wed- nesday, in order to keep in tune for the season- al concerts which are participated in. A Christ- mas program was held and plans are being made for participating in the Music Festival at Fredonia this spring. Some of the members went to Cassadaga and sang in the All-State Chorus. Others sang in the Holy Week as- semblies, which are held every year. The band graciously invited the chorus to a Christmas Party which proved a great success. Yes, we have had an eventful year.
