The Freshman class has been very active this year. They have taken part in basketball, not only the Freshman team, but the varsity and junior varsity as well. They also participated in cheerleading, Band, Dance Band, FHA, Drama Club, and many others. This class held a class party at South Dayton on October 20. They had a roller skating party, April 6. They also sponsored a donkey basketball game April 20 at South Dayton Auditorium. They' have sold candy and have quite a lot of money from it. The Freshman class has Won many prizes. They won the prize for selling the most subscriptions to the Pine Valley News in the contest between - the Freshman and Sophomore classes. From our class 32 members joined the Yorker Club. The Yorker Club attended a jamboree at Sherman and the state convention at Hyde Park, very interesting. We tried our luck as salesmen, when We decided to raise some money for our class and the Yorkers by selling candy and greeting cards. We were proud to say that Patty Petersen who is in our room was champion speller in the Buffalo Evening News Spelling Contest that was given to the 7th and 8th graders. i301
