Always ready to guide each student through difliculties, to advise with problems, to help pick up the pieces should they fall. Sympathetic, patient, strict, lenient, kind, force- ful, and generous are they. They have given you the base on which you stand. They have helped you organize clubs, coach teams, and choose your life's work. Their hearts beat out a life devoted to you.

Principal During your last month of school, as you pre- pared for commencement activities, I am sure that you were aware of mixed feelings. You realized a sense of accomplishment because a long-sought and awaited goal had been reached, and you were saddened by the realization that many cherished friendships would be terminated. Mingled with this sense of accomplishment and feeling of sadness were thoughts of the fu- ture. I am certain that many of you, as you thought about the future, were aware of the newness of the life you are entering upon. It is my sincerest wish that you, the first gradu- ating class to receive four years of education at Richland High School, will be secure in this newness, and that, as the years pass, when- ever you pause and meditate along life's way, you will feel that the training and knowledge re- ceived at Richland High School helped shape your lives and make them successful and fruit- ful. cw 56.0440 Ass't Principal
