HISTCDRY Twelve years ago rn 1944 a group of scared trmrd puprls entered the Prne Level School As we clrmbed the hrll from the frrst to the erghth grade some of our members dropped out some fell back to lower grades After erght long years of drlrgent study we frnally entered hrgh school Mr Bobby Stott was our homeroom teacher and Lurder hrs leadershrp we lrved down the name of Green Freshmen We entered the tenth grade under the leadershrp of Mrs Joe Crocker Durrng thrs year many of our students were marshalls warters and wartresses at the Junror Senror Banquet and were outstandrng rn sports The eleventh grade brrngs to our mrnd many memorres Our teacher was Mrss Gladys Moore That year we worked hard rarsrng money for the Junror Senror Banquet and other necessary actrvrtres Thrs was a brg year rn every way wrth our Washrngton trrp class rrngs Iunror Senror Banquet and our class play Amazrrrg Gracre As our days at Prne Level Hrgh come to a close and wrth our graduatron so near at hand we are delrghted to be called Senrors Our sponsor Mrss Ella Mae Starlrng helped make thrs a successful year By sharrng our troubles thoughts and rdeas we have leamed to love one another But as we leave we realrze that our Joumey together rs complete and that we are ready to step forward to make our own pathways C ASS PROPHECY We the class prophets of 1956 gracrously accepted an rnvrtatron to a New Year s Eve Party grven by a former classmate Beebe Olrver at her home rn Prne Level Whrle we were awartrng the arrrval of the New Year 1966 we compared notes regardrng the progress of the Senror Class of 1956 Delane Brady rs strll performrng her duty as a nurse rn Watts Hosprtal Walda Godwrn rs an EX Ray Technrcran at the Baptrst Hosprtal rn Wrnston Salem Rose Whrte rs Head Cheerleader at East Carolrna rn Greenvrlle and on the srde she rs teachrng cheerleadrng rn ten easy lessons Drckre Parker has Just released hrs plans for the erectron of a new arr base rn Alaska Ianrce Gower has now reached the top by berng one of the best nurses at Watts Charles Darden s math has proved rtself useful rn hrs career as a successful engrneer Wrllard Hrnnant after completrng college and fulfrllrng hrs mrlrtary oblrgatrons has now returned to hrs home ur Prne Level Beebe Olrver after recervrng her B S Degree at the Unrversrty of North Carolrna and becomrng a regrstered nurse rs workrng at Johnston Memorral Hosprtal Joyce Woodard rs kept very busy now performrng household dutres and teachrng all her lrttle grrls to be basketball stars Peggy and Arleen Holloman have tumed out to be very successful housewrves now and are two of the most promrent ladres of the day Claybon Crocker Robert Woodard and Edward Crumpler seem to be bery satrsfred wrth therr hrgh ranks wrth Uncle Sam rn the Arr Force Sherwood House may be well recognrzed by hrs work as Progressrve Farmer rnstructor for the County Bobby Webb rs one of the busrest men of hrs day rnstallrng and reparrrng televrsron sets all over the county Barbara Pendergraph s lrfe rs well occupied trying to keep A J and the chrldren happy Mary Ellen Rackley has put her brarns to work and rs a bookkeeper rn the Frrst Natronal Bank rn Washrngton Condary Ellrs has completed hrs course at Holmes Brble College and rs now a well known mrnrster J E Edwards after returnrrrg from the Army rs working on hrs father s farm Tootsre Prke has completed her course rn college and rs workrng as a stenographer rn a brg frrm rn Washrngton r I ' I I - , . . .
