LAST WILL AND TESTAMEN15 We, the class of I953, of Pine Level I-Iigh School, Pine Level, North Carolina, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament. To the underclassmen, the following traits and possessions: I, Charles Capps, bequeath my ability to drive to Raymond Bailey. I, J. T. Cteech, bequeath my good looks to Frank Smith. I, Clyde Denning, bequeath my ability to love to Wayne Watson. I, Jack Ray Edwards, bequeath my ability to win in 4-I-I to anyone who will make good use of it. I, Betty Jean Evans, bequeath my ability to talk to Jean Faye Avery. I, Royster Gaskill, bequeath my long legs and ability to play basketball to Jean Evans. I, Billy Kornegay, bequeath my ability to study to J. C. Jones. I, Carolyn Peedin, bequeath my ability to gossip to Mary Jo Futrell. I, Jimmy Peedin, bequeath my ability to flirt with girls to Will Crocker. I, Vance Peedin, bequeath my bookkeeping ability to Billy Strickland hoping he can pass it, I, Anne Myrtle Sellers, bequeath my ability to date steady to Janice Woodard. I, Betty Suggs, bequeath my ability to loaf to Arnold White. And lastly, our good wishes and our good humor to our teachers. CLASS DIQODHECY As I prepare for bed, I begin to think about the Seniors of '53, After I have fallen asleep, I dream of my old classmates. First, I see Billy Kornegay, Carolyn Peedin, and Annie Myrtle Sellers all happily married with families. Then, I see Royster C-askill playing basketball at one of the big four colleges. I-Ie is growing more famous every day. Then, I dream of the free land in which we live and I see Jimmy Peedin, J. T. Creech, and Charles Capps in muddy uniforms shouting commands as they serve in the infantry of the U. S. Army. Then, another group slips into my dream. I see Vance Peedin, Jack Edwards, and Betty Suggs slaving over books, trying to get something out of life. Now, I see Clyde Denning roving around the country with plenty of money, trying to find that right girl. Just as I am about to awake, I see Betty Jean Evans still at home waiting for her Air Force boy.
