ad! and Zedtament Ne, the class of 1951, of Pine Level High School, Pine Level, North Carolina, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any wills heretofore made by any of us. To our Parents, our love and gratitude for making our graduation possible. To the teachers, our good wishes for being so patient with us. To the underclassmen, the following traits and possessions: Hilda Crocker, bequeath my basketball ability to Carolyn Peedin I as I know she will make good use of it. I, Faye Coltrain, bequeath my ability to chatter incessantly without receiving minus points to Janice Overby. I, Eloise Godwin, bequeath my notebook with its endless supply of notes, answers, and homework to the school library to be placed on the reference shelf. I, Betty Pilkington, bequeath my last name to anyone who wants it as I won't be needing it for long. I, Edith Poole, bequeath my seat in French Class to any sucker for two years, as it will take that long to pass one course of it. I, Vinton Coor, bequeath my ability to drive a car and my good humor to Junius Jones. I, Charles Noodard, bequeath my surplus weight to Sara Lee, hoping she can find some place to put it. I, Moran Parker, bequeath my long legs and big feet to Robert Nilkins. I, Chester Creech, bequeath my dramatic talent and my WMan of the vorldn attitude to Cecil Dixon. I, Robert Sellers, bequeath my unquenchable thirst for knowledge to Clyde Denning and billy Konnegay. I, Dilly Nindham, bequeath my seat in the senior class to Waverly Jones, hoping he will get to use it. I, Fitzhugh Thompson, bequeath my office of Editor of the PINE NEEDLE to anyone who will work for its success. Ne direct that all our desks and books be left to the Juniors, our cheerfulness to the Sophomores, our quietness to the Freshmen, and, lastly, our good humor to the teachers.

lam Prophecy Fretfullyjl twisted and turned restlessly in my sleep. Fitful dreams were mine this night. Drifting into space as though I were one of the infinite plan- etesimal balls whirling around in the heavens, I was suddenly aware of a clear crystal-like planet which rotated in no particular orbit, and was directing it- self towards me. Curiosity overwhelmed me, and I was eager to inspect it more closely. As we neared one another, I could see that it was only a crystal ball as one sees in a fortune teiler's tent. However, this one seemed vivid and real, and I was entranced at what appeared before my eyes...it was the Pine Level High school Class of '5l! It might prove interesting to find out what the years hold in store. First, I see Moran Parker, now one of the world's foremost television tech- nicians, constructing television apparatus which would eliminate the receiver, and need only the human mind as a conductor. However, Moran fears that many of the larger corporations and television manufacturing companies will close their doors, and as a result, unemployment will rise, so, at present, this great discovery remains a secret. Turning the ball around, who should appear but a sophisticated young woman. It's none other than the former Eloise Godwin. She once planned to teach school, out you'd never know it by looking at her. dhe looks far too sane and sound to be a member of the teaching profession. Oh...it seems that the current system of teaching proved unsatisfactory, so, Eloise established her own school..shorter hours, no homework or tests, and cators only to those with an I. Q. of ILO and above. That sheds light on the mystery! Lets see...Fitzhugh Thompson planned to become a civil engineer. Wonder if his plans materialized? There he is! Fitzhugh now owns several of the nations' professional basketball teams, and is a figure well known in the athletic world for his benevolence. He's generous to all the would be basketball stars, and is kindly known as WSARW. ouddenly,a prim figure in white emerges into view. Betty Pilkington stuck to her plans, I see. She's the head nurse at NHealthy Harboru, one of the famous rest homes in the states, Betty seems to be making a name for herself, but glancing at her third finger, left hand, I see she's on the verge of changing names. The scene changes to an army base in Oklahoma. Hobert Sellers' determination brought success. But what is this? The men are saluting him and one calls him Major Sellers. lt seems Robert is doing fine for himself. wait, a women is run- ing towards him, this must be the girl we heard about...she's a brownette, too! Again the scene returns to an army base. I see a stiffly decorous figure in . white appear. Evidentlygddith Poole decided on the nursing profession. 5he's in- structress of all the army nurses at the base. someone called her UCaptain Evansv. lt seems she didn't stick to the nursing career entirely! In l95l, Vinton Coor was dubious about his future. The crystal ball finds Vinton as a comprehending attorney. Vinton always did try to stress his point. what Vinton always said during school, Ulf I can't do it, no one cann must be holding out. The crystal ball is very foggy, but after a pause it clears, and I see a navy air base. Who could the stunning young woman in furs coming out of the building be? Jhy, it's Faye doltrain, but why is she here? Now it's clearing... Faye was once working at the base, but now is married to a colonel. It seems Faye is con- tent. But wait, from a car a little girl is running towards her calling mother. The picture is complete. Nith some difficulty, the ball brings Hilda Crocker into focus. Let's see... Hilda seems to have found her place in politics. Hilda's latest campaign theme is Nall men in the home by'65, women in the professionsw. Hilda always did like to debate! Hilda is married to an executive whom she idolizes. In private life, Hilda says it's his hair ..... red! Suddenly, adistinguished looking man emerges into view...Chester Creech was evidently successful. He's a very wealthy farmer now. Nhen Chester was in school ne hated Njoil Gonservationn, but the dikes and the strip cropping on his farms looks cs though he were making use of it now. As the gaze reaches the house, 1 see two little girls and a boy playing in the yard. Chester, what was that you always said about children? Charles Noodard planned to become a bookkeeper. Wonder if his plans sub- stantiated? There he is coming out of a large building in New York. But what is the sign over the door? WNoodard's School of ousiness for women.H Just like Charles,he never did think of anyone but himself! But who is the beautiful blond beside him? Don't worry, he isn't married, it's one of his students. I see he's still up to old tricks. As i look further into the crystal ball I see a very large city. Nho is the distinguished looking business man coming down the street? Oh,yes, It's Billy Windham. He enters a large tobacco market. He was always good at arguing anyway! The crystal ball begins to fade, and I see no more, but the Pine Level High Bchool Senior Class of l95l seems to be prospering.
