Little did they realize then that of all the original stu- dents only thirteen of these would be attending Pine Grove High school for their complete educational program, dome would drop by the wayside, others transfer, and still many other minor reasons would leave only a few of the original students.....exactly thirteen. However at the same time many new persons arrived, others transferred from schools far away and the class would remain large In size. 1944-45.....Four years had passed and In our fashion we had begun to establish new records....our school years were really infolding. 1945-46.......Now we were really growing. We were learning different things about every subject. We should have.....we had six teachers! 1946-47 1947- 48 1948- 49 1949-50 1960-51 ......Betty Stancil, Bobby Jackscn, and hanky went out for basketball; thus began a long journey to reach the state tournament. James Moore, Charles, and Hulon Luke were already throwing them through the hoop. • «...•Legs.....all legs and arms now. But you could'nt tell us that. We were FOURTEEN! ......A new year and our class was quarantined be- cause of an epidemic of Spring Fever. This has been the only serious menace in our school studies.......This year our gymnasium was dedi- cated to the community............our first banquet was held there; a Mother-Daughter, Father-Son banquet. ......Visited Twin Lakes....we are now Interested In raising money to honor the Seniors for their annual Junior-Senior banquet at the Country Club. This was the year Lowndes introduced Driver Training--------expect the State patrols were spend- ing too much money for tickets and the wreckers were taking too much money out of the community. ......All through the years we have looked forward for a good excuse to sneak away from school. They have placed many out- standing students in competition throughout the state and have succeeded in winning state-wide acclaim. The activities of the chapter consisted of poultry products, cattle projects, swine projects, home im- provement, canning, food preparation, dairy product- ion, bread making, forestry and wild life. .This year the members have worked hard toward raising money for the Four- a camp which is being built at Twin Lakes. Contributing both money and work to this campaign they have helped to realize a Four-H hope that has been a long time in growing to completion. Sara Alice Touchton and Billy Davis, highly active in their club i[ork wofl high recognition for their efforts and gave other Four-H'er'a a goal to strive for. Mr. Hensley (? eet icadem Charles Luke.............Captain Betty Jo Dasher........Secretary D. E. Gerlock............Advisor The Pine Grove High School patrol has been active In their duties during this year. In the beginning they organised in much the same manner as before but on the first of November It was suggested that they organise a student patrol court. This was done. Each week students falling to comply with the bus regulations were brought before the court and the student patrol, under faculty super- vision, would hear complaints and help In arriving at decisions concerning what should be done IA .each case. Once starte . and minor difficulties overcome the plan was very successful. The students cooperated In an excellent man- ner. During the year the bus drivers Mr. McKle, Hr .Rule, and Mr. Peters sponsored a supper for the patrol and several other patties were held. The patrol hopes that those who accept their positions next gear will do so with sincerity for this Is a work of headaches but of Importance. To climax the year County Sheriff Jewell Putch will take two of the outstanding patrolmen to Sea Island at Brunswick, Georgia for a two day pleasure trip in thanks for their fine work.
