The world soon calls us, As we look onward, In hope that our knowledge will now be our guide Paths of tomorrow are with us everyday, And now it's time to part they say. But memories so dear, We will hear. Ringing in our ears. Our joyous high school days, As graduation is here. To our teachers who taught us what we know, Our thanks to them we'll always show. Life's journey is beyond us, We seek our own ambitions, And strive for our fame and our fortune to grow We'll keep our Alma Mater In our hearts to be our guide. And look back at Pine Grove High with pride, But words can't express How we've spent twelve years of Happiness, Which leads us to success -- We bid you FAREWE LL. Karen Sites Sr Pat Gibson CLASS POEM We sailed the sea of learning, Now have reached the distant shore. Through twelve years our ship kept turning But for us will sail no more. With steadfast hope and hearts so brave, We rode the stormy seas. We'Ve charted our course to firmly pave, our future destinies. Our log contains the memories we shared upon this trip. With grateful hearts, farewell to thee we leave this loving ship. The time has come to say Good-bye, our future enters in. And leave our high school classroom, we finish to begin. M-can 'Wx M-...4 is fSrN 1.-.f -..r CLASS July 23, 1986, at sea . . . Brother! And I thought this was to be a quiet ocean cruise ! Well, never was anyone more mistaken! lt seems that the Class of '66 of Pine Grove Area High School has managed a chance meeting on this very ship -- and every last member is present. What a coincidence! And what a lot of Celebrating -- I can't even get a decent night's sleep. Everyone is singing and dancing and marveling over what each has made of his life. It seems that the class's prize feather in its hat is the fact that a member of the class, Lee Huber, has become President of the United States. It seems that he is going on a good-will tour to the Philippines with his personal secretary, Sally Feeman. Eugene Umbenhauer, our ambassador to Russia, is vacationing after three years in the Soviet Union. Daniel Hawkins, the FBI agent, is here protecting the security of the President. Two of the world's most famous women are Jill Weand and Janice Herring who were the first women to land on the fifth moon of Jupiter. There is also Stephen Schwartz who met fame when he landed on Neptune. But these are not the only members of the class in the space program. Two members, Richard Stager and Ronald Stupp, are a part of the newly organized space police. They serve as a type of moving stop-light. Robert Davies is on leave from his job as test pilot for the newly-built passenger space ship which reaches a top speed of eighteen thousand miles while in flight. Two other class members are Gerald Schwartz and Ronald Shollen- berger who are working on the huge, colony-like moon stations. These send meteor shower signals to moon bases. The advances in space travel have enabled the United States to organize colonies on the moon and distant planets. Since some of these trips take rather long, Joyce Zimmerman has made it her job to decorate the interiors in a homey fashion. Jane Barr is working as a stewardess on interplanetary flights. Darlene Miller has invented a portable landing strip to make soft landings on the moon possible. Dennis Umbenhauer, the modern day Davy Crockett, is vacationing from his job as a moon farmer. Paul Wolfinger is taking a much needed rest from his job as a pony express rider on the moon. Judy Klinger is giving her feet a rest after serving as town crier. It was her job to warn the colonists to take cover during the meteor showers. Gregory Achenbach seems to have a rather unique job modeling topless space suits. The U.N. has expanded to include all countries of earth plus several Martian countries. Susan Evanchalk has undertaken the task of learning the language of Venus. Paul Schaeffer, a demolition technician, removes old cities to make room for the modern cities planned and designed by John Rumpf and Faye Reinhart. Bruce Schneck is manufacturing polka dot paint to decorate these cities. Donna Brown, the housepainter, says the se cities turn out quite beautiful. Jeannine Yoder is kept busy de signing clothing for the famous dressmaker, John Haldeman, to produce. Deborah Huber has chosen to carry the gospel to distant planets while Russell Olt chose to preach in the new cathedral in Pine Grove . It seems that since some animals, especially elephants and tse tse flies, are becoming rare, some class mem- bers have decided to see what they can do to save the species. Lola Lengle has Started to raise the tse tse fly and Coralee Daubert has begun breeding miniature elephants. Catherine Rumpf is busy making fur coats from the wild animals that are tracked down and shot by Judith Brown. Karen Sites is now the official dog catcher for the Washington Experimental Laboratories. Larry Anspach is the warden of the game reserves for Siberian huskies. There are also many members of the class in the medical profession. Rodney Betz is a famous sureon, specializing in big toe amputation. Glenn Boyer is a nurse in the army hospital corps. Lynne Nagle, the psy- chiatrist, has analyzed and solved many cases involving very complex mental disorders. Besides these, Sallie Bohr is a tree surgeon for the Department of Forests and Waters. Richard I-lain is a lens grinder for the American Optical Glass Company. Lois Butler, an auto saleswoman, is making out well selling cars to Walter Stump. He canlt seem to re- member he isn't always on the drag-strip. Mary Ellen Sattizahn is driving a bus for the New York transporta- tion company. Gary Stump earns his living digging graves for Wayne Stauffer who owns and operates the largest funeral par- lor in Baltimore. Mary I-lardenstine is a Rear Admiral in the Waves, and Carol Kemmerling is a sergeant in the Wacs. Roy Nagle has risen through the ranks to be the world's first six-star general. 74 PROPHECY Bernard Thompson, who perfected the submarine for use even at the ocean'S greatest depths, is helping Nancy I. Zimmerman, the famous undersea explorer, to write up her latest reports. Delphine Mars operates a fleet of junks in the South China Sea. Philip Gorrell is the owner of the world famous Correll Circus. His most popular acts are Louisa Ankenbrandt, the tight rope walker, and Norman Zimmerman, the lion tamer. , Nancy Anspach is a waitress at the Peppermint Lounge, where Gerald Lengle is serving as official bouncer. For years Sharon Lengle has been trying to develop the everblooming plumb tree. Barry Kintzel, the chemical analyst, has been unable to find where she went wrong. Gary Pominville has been trying to raise apples under synthetic conditions. Nancy Dubbs became the most famous weather girl after correctly predicting sixty-seven consecutive hurricanes. Sara Schwalm, meanwhile, has been predicting earthquakes. Peggy Wargo spends most of her time picketing chewing gum plants since they have been forced to use syn- thetic ingredients because of a chicle shortage. Since his debut as a hairdresser, Steven Warner has brought about a revolution in women's hairdos. Terry Haas, the multi-millionaire, has decided to finance Gary Wolfe's project of irrigating the Sahara. Warren Weiss, because of his great impersonation, has inherited Louis Armstrong's trumpet. He has made a fortune just by letting people touch it. Red Skelton hired Tory Ditzler to take his place in The Silent Spot. Ronald Schneck is a talent scout for Robert Schnoke's TV program, which is something like the Ted Mack Show was when I was young. john Levan is the director of the Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra. Eva Reed plays the tuba in the orchestra and james Daubert gives piano recitals during intermission. Mary Gilbert is resting her voice after singing The Barber of Seville at the Metropolitan Opera House. LaVerne Lengel has begun to manufacture bowling balls for the world champion, Sandra Fox. Sandra Schneck is getting some of the kinks out of her neck after coaching the Globetrotters for ten years. Ina Herring is re st- ing after her eighth successful season as coach of the Green Bay Packers. Ronald Kramer has just become the world's heavyweight boxing champ. A new school district including all of Schuylkill County has been organized. In this school Howard Hummel is teaching chemistry, Sandra Kutz is teaching health and joan Wolfe is the head of the history department. Leona Bowen is the head guidance counselor and the librarian is Nancy Schaeffer. Darlene Brown, the literary critic, has been praising Richard Zerbe's essays for some years now. Nancy M. Zimmerman is a ski instructor at a mountain resort. Erma Lutz has begun to package snow for space colonists to take along as a remembrance. Ronald Brown has become quite famous since he made his debut as a movie actor. Michele Bonawitz is the head cook at the Waldorf, her specialty being crepe suzettes. Beverly Forry, the butcher, sees that Michele gets only the choice cuts of meat. She also sends meat to the Acme Stores which are owned and operated by Gail Kimmel. Oriana Keefer runs a shop that overhauls toys with gasoline engines. Mae Kutz runs a huge newspaper in which Diane Krammes has her much quoted Lonley Hearts column. Sandra Krause will always be remembered for her marvelous ballet artistry in Swan Lane. Barbara Lehr is the owner of a huge mink farm. Deanna Luckenbill is the floor manager in a black licorice plant. Diamonds that have been cut by Patricia Gibson are almost priceless. Helen Heinbach and Linda Hoover are famous wandering folk singers. Three of their records have sold over three million copies. And last but not least, David Fisher has become the most popular playboy in the whole World. Hmmm, now that I look over that list, I guess they have reason for rejoicing. 75 was fl X 2 gm., 54: ' ,,.. Z 1' f ,ff f ,f 1 EA 1 E Z Q g Y QQ W X fs uw? Horn N 79 IN MEMORIAM Margaret Evans Koshinski lt is an empty feeling which a person experiences when someone with whom he has worked suddenly passes away. Such a feeling gripped the teachers and students of Pine Grove Area High School when they learned of the death of Mrs. Margaret Koshinski at her home in Shickshinny on january 30, l966. Although Mrs. Koshinski was at Pine Grove for only one semester, she left our school with many things by which she will be remembered. Hav- ing taught in the Newark, New jersey, schools for more than thirty years she added an experienced touch to her teaching duties here. She also played a role in the revival of our high school's Dramatics Club. In addi- tion to her academic accomplishments, Mrs. Koshinski will long be remembered for her warm smile -- a smile which could penetrate even the coldest dispositions. It is therefore with sincere regret at the loss of such a fine person that the CARDINAL staff dedicates this page to the memory of Mrs. Margaret Koshinski. 80 ? , 3 ,. , ii 1 www, g V3 ' 533 ,. t 5 0 A .W 5 1 5 ' t if R- ' ' M. .. gf YQ- Mmr Q, ,, x ' K4 2 .L N wi LL Li E' ,, 1 X 2 i A3 1 , 'L 5 QQ V f DERCLASSME 5 JUNIOR CLASS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE PRESIDENT . . .
