PHYSICAL ED U CA TI O Seventh graders ' 'shoot some hoop' ' john Betus just flips over P F. The Physical Education Department offers the students of Pine Forest Junior High School a variety of activities in which to participate. The program provides for and encourages individual growth in skill usage, co-ordination, agility, dexeterity, endurance, and knowledge of activities. They learn the rules, history, and how to play the following sports: football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, soccer, golf, Wrestling, team frisbee, track and field, rhythms, and individual sports. HEALTH The health education program is concerned with helping the student make well-informed decisions regarding physical, mental, and social being. M Q CULTURAL ART The art program is designed to allow students to explore various art techniques, artists and art materials through drawlngs, pottery, sculpttues and other art projects. The general music program is designed to provide the students with experiences in many aspects of music throught the study of musical theatre , several operas, musicals and ballet. The chorus, band, and art departments combine their talents each year for a Christmas concert and a spring arts festival FOREIGN LA G UA GE Spanish I gives students an opportunity to learn the language and the culture of the Spanish speaking countries, Activities include using language labs, cooking a Spanish meal, making a Spanish magazine, keeping a notebook and reciting dialogues. In French I the French language as well as facts about the French speaking cotmtries are taught. Students present dialogues and write compositions and reports in French.
