MA THEMA TIC grade math class. 2. Mrs. Surles' eighth grade math class . 3. Mr. Fulton's algebra I class. The seventh grade math program is designed to afford students the opportunity to explore the subject area and to work in accordance with their own needs. The newspaper is used to find discounts, percentages and sales items. Students construct bulletin boards, geometric solids, geo- mobiles and conduct demonstrations. The metric system is used for weighing and measuring . Math amusements such as games and puzzles, are part of the eighth grade math program. Additionally, there is much drill and use of the overhead projector. The ninth grade math program consists of - algebra I, modified algebra and general math. The goal of the math deparhnent is to help students understand mathematics and use what they learn in a skillful and productive way in their daily lives.
