Mr. Lamont Assistant Sponsor . ,, Mr. Moore The junior class started this eventful year with nineteen pupils and since then has gained two and lost one pupil. The class was well represented on the basketball, football, and track teams. They placed first in both the interclass basketball tournament and the intcrclass track meet. The class was also well repre- sented on the girls' track team. Elaine Phillips, Genevieve Kieler, and Beverly Elwood took part in the Typing I and Elaine Phillips in the Shorthand contest at Carpenter. Genevieve Kieler was in thc ELCHSA trio contest. Marybelle Maroney and Wilbur Bunch represented the school in the Oration contest. Wilbur Bunch won the local essay contest while Elaine Phillips tied for second. In the Bank essay contest Wilbur Bunch placed first while Dollic Golden received third prize. As the junior class members edit the annual, they spent much time earning money for it. They sold food at the football gamesg sponsored a bake sale, a picture show, and presented their class play, Doctor is Out, in order to raise funds. Mr. Lamont, Sponsor, and Mr. Moore, Assistant Sponsor, were of great help to the class throughout the year. -10-
