The PCHS Board of Education and Administration work together to form the leadership of High School District 101. The board, elected by the community, has final approval of all policy matters pertaining to the general operation of the school. These policies are contained in the student handbook which is reviewed annually by the board and administration On a daily basis, Mr. Walter P. Grady, Superintendent, and Mr. Dean Brewer, Building Principal, are responsible for the overall operation of the school. Another primary responsibility of the board and the administration is deciding on the budget for the school. This includes items for classroom use, for ath- letics and other extra-curricular activities, for maintenance and repair of the school building, and for salaries for all school personnel. Also, the board and the administration are in charge of hiring and evaluating teachers and other school personnel with Mr. Grady and Mr. Brewer taking on the tasks of interviewing poten- tial teachers, evaluating teachers on a periodic basis, and recommending per- sonnel to the board. Mr. Grady and Mr. Brewer also work with teachers on matters of curriculum Vocational Coordinator Mr. Dean Smith organizes curricular matters in vocational education, working primarily with the mining program.
