7 MR. DAVE RENN SOCIAL STUDIES Every P.C.H.S. student must take some form of Social Studies at one time or another so they probably had either Mr. Wib Ragland or Mr. Dave Renn. Mr. Ragland handles Government and World Cultures letting Mr. Renn, a newcomer, take over the juniors in U.S. History and the seniors in Psychol- ogy. Two language teachers also help teach in the social studies department. Mrs. Messamore and Miss Gullet teach social and economics problems and U.S. History, respectively. All these teachers do their best to try and educate students in Social Studies, an area that is essential in today's complex world.

A farewell party for Mrs. Janice Threw, who substituted for Mrs. Dickey at the beginning of the year. In this technological age, the job of a homemaker or a farmer is not as simple as it used to be. Appliances in the home are time saving but complicated. Huge agricultural machinery has now replaced the horse and plow. To help future homemakers cope with all their labor-saving devices, Mrs. Dickey teaches home economics. The sci- ence of agriculture has become rather complicated with the introduction of new varieties of crops and livestock, larger machinery, agricultural chemicals, etc. Mr. Templeton instructs his students in various aspects of farming. Homemaking and farming are very important to the future of our country and we are lucky to have teachers like Mrs. Dickey and Mr. Templeton. MR. LOUIS TEMPLETON MRS. JEANETTE DICKEY
