Sophisticated Seniors ! Long have we waited for the day when we could annex this title. In the lall of 1947 we made onr debut as Freshmen and planted a firm foot on the soil on P.C.H.S. We worked our way up from “Freshies” and “Soph-o-mores to “Juniors so flighty, ” and we felt pretty important when we were planning the Prom. Now we are “Seniors so mighty, 1 ’and this is our last year of P.C.H.S.It has been a memorable year, highlighted by Homecoming, the Christmas Dance, our Senior Play, and the Prom. We have enjoyed every minute of it, and we are sorry to be leaving. We are proud to have been students at P.C.H.S., and we will look back on our high school days as the happiest days of our lives. First thing you know we’ll be wearing long pants and going with girls. Honest we don’t like to brag, but in spite of our youth, we’re to P. C. H. S., what the Mayflower was to the Pilgrim, what make-up is to girls and what Mr. Thomas is to the basketball team. All year we have been giving plays. Tirzah Kane was elected Home¬ coming Queen. It’s most important proje ct of the year is the sponsorship of the annual Home¬ coming play-this year a fantasy comedy, “Heaven Can Wait,” Several noon-hour plays directed by student member s of the Black Masque were also a part of the Clubs activity. The president is Dana Sutton and the indefatigable sponsor is Mrs. Iva Chenoweth. The popular movie “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” was a screen adop¬ tion of the play “Heaven Can Wait. In our production of “Heaven Can Wait.” Gordon Eckols portrayed Joe Pendleton; his girl, Betty Logan, was played by Pat Lazenby. The mysterious Mr. Jordan was enacted by Charles Englehardt. HI-HI The Hi Tri is an all-girl organiza¬ tion with nearly one hundred forty members. The aims of the Hi Tri are; character, friendship, cour¬ tesy pleasure, and success. The watchword is “Loyalty.” The motto of the Hi Tri is, 44 We build the lad¬ der by which we rise.” This year many of the freshman girls were initiated into the club. This was followed by Kangeroo Court for those girls who had “Brokenthe rules.” The senior girls served as the jury. Among the activities at school this year, the Hi Tri has sponsored movies and parties. The highlights of their activities were the Hi Y- Hi Tri Christmas Fromal Dance and the lovely spring Mother and Daughter Banquet. Here the candidates for member¬ ship learn their pledge The Hi-Y is an active organization in the school. It helps sponsor such events as the Christmas dance, Hobo Hop, Valentine’s dance, and noon hour dancing. After our bi-weekly meeting we play basketball in the gym. LIBRBRy We six girls were chosen to help Mrs. Kuykendall in the library. We help in the discharging and shelving of books, and in typing and filing the catalogue cards. Of course, our aim is to take as much of the load as we can from Mrs. Kuykendall’s shoulders. She in return helps us get a working knowledge of the library. Of this we can only say, “Thank you, for so much of your time and patience.” We have no officers except our Student Council Representative, Jo Anne Kane. This experience will help them a great deal when they move up to the varsity next season. The kittens could manage only one victory in six games this season. The Kittens had a very spirited club and should fair well in varsity competition next fall. 50 The Indians really missed the boat as can be seen by looking at the Black Masque ' s entry in the Home¬ coming Parade.
