girl's basketball The girls really got into the swing of things this year. For the first time the Pirate women participat- ed in a league. They also went to a state tournament. The girls have the drive, bustle. and determination needed to be victorious. Loretta Yoder and Jackie Bar- kau received the Co-Captains award. Jackie was voted as the Most Valuable Player. The Junior Varsity was coached by Mrs. Conklin and the Varsity was coached by Mrs. Andresen. TOP CENTER: Kathy Kuhn outmoves her tall opponent. RIGHT CENTER: Loretta Yoder drives in for a lay-up. varsity basketball TOP ROW: Coach D.J. Lincoln, Mike Gra- mer, Steve Wilste. Kevin Douglas, Steve Bishop, Jim Darrow, Bill Vis, Lance Kuhn, Gary Wilste. Mike Latimer. BOTTOM ROW: Terry Bysdlo, Dan Amburgey, Dennis McKinney, George Reynolds, Chuck Dela- torre, Rick White, Kelly Rosenberger, Robert Schmidt. The Pirate Varsity got off to a slow start, but came on strong at the end to grab a second in the Ingham County league just be- hind a powerful Leslie team. The team produced a 15 and 5 record which is the best the Pirates have had under Coach Lincoln since his arrival. The 74 tournment prospects are very bright with Mr. Lincoln confident of a District win and rising in the Regionals. Next years outlook is also bright with overhalfthe team returning.
