We, the Senior Class of Pilot High, in the year of nineteen hundred and fifty-nine, being in sound body and having a clear mind, do make, publish and declare this the Last Will and Testament of our most prized possessions. To the faculty, we leave our most grateful thanks and appreciation for having taught us and having so much patience with us during the years we had together. To our parents we express our deepest appreciation and many thanks for the love shown in guiding us through the years, we leave the memories of our childhood days. To the Sophomores and Freshmen, we leave best wishes for as many wonderful hours as we have had, and we bequeath a strong encouragement to finish their education. To the Juniors, with the hope that they will be better Seniors than we were, we leave the following: NANCE BECK leaves her quiet and sweet ways to Francis Morgan and Judy Swing. WILLIS BECK leaves his ability to do good at all times and not be a pest to Royce Fuller. RALPH BRINKLEY leaves his ability to work, but still come to school, to Jerry Parrish. BARBARA CLODFELTER leaves her ability to go steady to Judy Shulerg and her sweet and quiet ways, and shortness, to Joyce Eddinger and Opal Ammons. MARTHA CLODFELTER leaves her musical talents to Nancy Smith and Elaine Burton, and her height to Genell Bryan. BILL DARR leaves his title as Best Dressed Boy to Perry Cranfordg his neatness to Brown Baityg and his ability to drive a bus to Jerry Clinard and Tommy Sullivan. RUBY EDDINGER leaves her cute and friendly ways to Kathryn Sink and Shirley Wilson. MADELINE EMBRY leaves her position as captain of the girls' basketball team to Kaye Ward, and her title as Miss Pilot High to anyone who deserves it. WAYNE EMBRY leaves his musical talents to Wayne Morris. LORENE JARVIS leaves her ability to get to class on time to Arlene Gibson, Barbara Cox, and Betty Browng and her witty ways and ability to get good grades in shorthand to Mary Francis William. JUDY LEONARD leaves her ability to sit still in class to Peggy Vestal and Lois Hall. JOHN LITTLE leaves his ambition to like to come to school to Billy Younts. CHARLES LONG leaves his quiet and witty ways to Eric Grubbg and his position on the football team to anyone who deserves it. JUDY LONG leaves her cute and neat ways to Julia Hinshaw, and her title as Best Dressed Girl to Vickie Lemmons. MONROE MABE leaves his quietness and bashfulness to Kenneth Crotts and Hayden Eddinger. JERRY MATTHEWS leaves his ability to get along with girls to Larry Wall, Phillip Ball and anyone else who likes girls. GAIL PIERCE leaves her courteous and neat ways to Dorothy Starrett. CALVIN RILEY leaves his dependable and friendly ways to Ronald Kanoy and Ronnie Swicegood. ANN SINK leaves her studious and dignified ways to Glenda Byerly and Betty Jo Williams. HAROLD SMITH leaves his ability to draw to Jerry Myers and Terry Poole. BONNIE STEVENSON leaves her ability to lay out of school to Margaret Hunt and Virginia Freedle. DANNY THOMASON leaves his cute and witty ways to Terry Arnery. REX WALSER leaves his position as captain of the boys' basketball team to Jerry Hodgeg and position on the football team to anyone who deserves it. NANCY YOKLEY leaves her ability to get along with all teachers to Dorothy Hutchens and Barbara Barnes, and her title as Miss Homecoming Queen to Kaye Ward. NANCY BECK JUDY LORD It all started on a warm sunny moming as I took off for work in my helicopter. fYes, that's the fashion now-a-dayslp Every day I travel from my home in New Jersey to New York for my job as Musical Director on the Steve Allen Show. Funny, but my mind traveled back to Thomasville, N. C. and my classmates. Ah, what good times we used to have. I sat there basking in a feeling of good will and happiness. Suddenly my dream world was interrupted by a troubled sputter in the general direction of the motor, My eyes scanned the control panel and to my horror the fuel needle bounced over to empty! I quickly brought the 'Copter down on top of a building and climbed from my seat and searched frantically for an exit. l sent a distress note over the side to a garage on the block. It was answered by a mechanic in a whirlybird who brought a
