The competition proved to be too much for the inexperienced footmen of Pillshury's soccer team in 1966. While coming close several times, the Comets were unable to outscore their opponents during any contest of the ten game schedule. Lack- ing both an effective scoring punch from the offensive line and a defensive unit to hold off the opponents, Pillsbury scored only thirteen goals for the season while allowing 57 goals to be scored against them. Bruce Love from Brazil was an out- standing player saving 23 attempts at the goal during the Harvest Home game against Concordia College. Other men returning who can always be counted as real competitors are Dan Lindsey, Larry Livesay, Dave Denning, Mike Gordan and john Kmetz. Dan Lindsey could really roll them over The Pillsbury Grapplers showed real determination as they competed on the mat. With an ll to 5 Winning record, they proved to be the most successful men's team that Pillsbury has ever known. Bob Bardwell Was by far the season's best player, losing only to an excellent Rochester opponent. Se- nior Bill Kettlewell, sidelined by in- jury, strove to inspire the players in his position as coach.
