Parker Literary Society was named after Mrs. Marjorie Parker, the wife of our former college president, Dr. Monroe Parker. Being dedicated to her Christian service, she demonstrated an outstanding testimony in all she did. Matthew 6:33, Mrs. Parker's favorite verse, was chosen as the society Verse: But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Faith was selected as the theme, the letters representing the desire of each society member: Forsaking Alll Trust Him. Gold and white were chosen with gold representing the inherited promises of God and white symbolizing righteousness obtained by Looking Unto Jesus , the society hymn.
