Class rophecy As I walk through the forest on this lovely day, I see a huge tree. Oh, I think I see something in it. When I look into the tree I find the crystal ball which tells me the future of the class of 54. Christine Weaver has completed her training and is now Supervisor of Nurses at Wayne Memorial Hospital. W, J . Batten has just opened up his Barber Shop in Goldsboro and is one of the most prominent Barbers in Goldsboro. Good luck, W. J. Cramier Davis has decided that she likes her job as homemaker better than she did her job as secretary. Mickey Tyndall is driving a Taxi. Watch your speed, Mickey. Melba Pate is really enjoying her career as a Home Economics teacher. Claude Pittman is now stationed in Japan with the United States Army, Norma Ann Smith has decided that a career as a Model is more profitable than married life. Jimmy Crumpler is Chief of the Police in Goldsboro. Edna Mae Batten is having the time of her life as a telephone operator. Harold Best is overseer of a large farm in Pikeville, I bet he will soon be overseer of a certain girl. Betty Jane Kearney is working with a big firm in Florida as a secretary. Nice work, Betty. Norman Herring is now a Captain in the Coast Guard. Marguerite Howell has concluded her secretarial career and has settled down to married life. Sherwood Tyndall is making a success in his career as a trucker. Not so fast around those curves, Sherwood. Dorothy Waters has been very successful in her career as a WAC. Edgar Gurley is now a Sergeant in the United States Army, Shelby Jean Smith is in training for a nurse. I'm sure you will make a good one, Shelby. Willie Teachey is North Caro1ina's number one Contractor. We are very proud of you, Willie. - Shirley Davis has found that married life is more exciting than a secretarial career. Linston Merritt owns a large cattle range. Janet Hicks is a whiz in her job as a private secretary. Don't get too interested in your boss, Janet. continued

PROPHECY, continued Jimmy Grantham sureis enjoying his career as an operator of a Service Station, I bet Jimmy will soon be enjoying married life with a certain little brunette. Carrie Davis has just given her fourth grade students a test, Don't be too hard on them, Carrie. Lynwood Peele is one of the greatest farmers in North Carolina, We are very proud of Lynwood. Jo Ann Combs is having a good time working in a Civil Service Office with all those boys, Don't let them get in your way, Jo Ann, Delton Lancaster has just been promoted to General in the United States Army, Gee, I bet it took a lot of hard work, Ileen Smith's career as a telephone operator surely is keeping her busy. Jimmy Rose is the most prominent and outstanding doctor in North Carolina. We were very proud to have Jimmy in the class of Hilda Toler's married life is more interesting to her than a secretarial career, Will Sullivan is a famous truck driver. Don't break your neck, Will, Your wife and children will be waiting for you.
