The United States has long been known as a nation of riflemen. The in- dividual American armed with the rifle has figured significantly and, in most cases, decisively in our history from the early days of the Revolution to the present day. Through many wars we have fought to maintain our freedom, and the deciding factors which gave us victory were the qualities and efficiency of the riflemen we sent into battle. We dedicate this club toward the propagation of this purpose and toward the instillment of a sense of responsibility, sportsmanship, safety, and skill in the use of firearms. 83 Young Democrats First Roiv: Bennie Bartley, James Barnett, Dave Carr, Keen Johnson — Chairman, Dan- ny Branson — Co-Chairman, George Gibson, Bobby Carter, Dalton Belcher.
