THE CHAPEL Pikeville College not only outlines a Christian pro- gram— Pikeville College is a Christian program. Regular daily worship in the Chapel is a vitally important part of the student ' s life at Pikeville College. Here in the crowded pews many find that which they have searched for all their lives— Christ. Here in the Chapel, the students come in contact with the finer things of life, including: good music, art, drama, lectures, ser- mons, and special types of entertainment. The Chapel is really the heart of Pikeville College.

Within this circle there are half-a-million people not served by another four-year college. And yet their need for one is as great if not greater than that of any region of comparable size in the United States. The need for teachers, for trained and responsible Christian citizens, for competent professional men and women, is a critical one, for educational facilities have not kept pace with the demands of a rapidly growing population.
