4i mmatsawbweatlwu AddtaPQa5s Mr. Lee Horn, new dramatics coach, revitalized the productions of Pike. The Teahouse of the August Moon -complete with army ieep and goat-started the tall season. The students worked diligently constructing Japanese bridges, unique props and scene dividers. Such minute details as the color of a hanging mobile were endlessly debated. Mr. Horn also held sessions instructing the pupils on various techniques of acting so that they might give a more polished and profes- sional performance. During the spring semester the music department com- bined with Mr. Horn to stage T10 in the Shade. The musical displayed the talents of Ginger Soper, Den- nis Daupert, Mike Jones, and John Patten. The band also made the Broadway play a local success-play- ing numbers which were a major departure from their regular types ot numbers. Mr. Horn hopes later to offer selections similar to readings from Carl Sandburg. These opportunities have allowed the student body to pool its talents to provide polished productions rather than straining a particular class level to find enough people to staff one play.
