Once again the Pike band placed first on Farmers Day at the State Fair. l Q -mul ISEQS5 Summer vacations seem as though they'll never get here when it's April or May. The unfortunate who find they weren't able to luck-out soon tind themselves back at the books again. As they look out the win- dow and dream of swimming, sleeping late, or making money at a summer job, others voluntarily give up treasured time for evening band practice. The band always opens the school year unotficially at the State Fair performing on Farmers Day and Band Day. The physical plant of Pike doesn't rest during the summer. The stadium, complete with press box, was started this summer and completed in early fall. But the nicest part ot the summer is being able to take trips and relax with one's friends-to be able to have the gong over for cakes without feeling guilty about homework. Things go better with coke after coke after coke-or Pepsi. I5

M, We're the type to Win proved veracious as the sophomores Tied with The Choir in the annual float contest. E Dun Ellis, Toby Meyers, and Jim Thornberry, aid other members of the CBMSB in providing music for dancing Pikers. Q A spirited attitude led the Devils into o 3-0 victory over the Beech Grove Hornets. Carrying the ball is senior halfback Brent White. ll lo
