We've wQ5vwb0lD. . . We've become a symbol. To exemplify this fragment of our theme the staff decided to give the students and faculty a momento-a seal or symbol. Throughout the years many attempts have been made to culminate Pike life into a picture, but it was only 1967 which was successful. Staff members and students supplied ideas, the Student Council eliminated, and the student body voted on the seal seen throughout this book. ln the future the symbol of Pike will be displayed on many 7

Owwdves How can we soy We've become a symbol of our- selves . . . that doesn't seem to make much sense. In English we find that symbols are in novels, and they are usually obiects which convey another meaning of deeper, more ironic levels. How then can we, the pupils in Pike High School, say we are symbols? The students are merely young adults who go to school to learn, this is the thought held by many people. But, we are the class of 1967, that makes us ditiferent from the ones of 1892 and even 1966.
