ORGANIZATIONS Parent-Teacher Association The P. T. A. has had gratifying results from this year's activities. The programs for this year, under the capable guidance of Mrs. Francis Baur, have given the members an opportunity to understand and enjoy many of the activities in the school. Every committee in the organization has fulfilled its responsibilities so well that time nas been found for a nu ber of new activities. One of the most interesting is the Cub Scout Pack. Sted Pearce is the committee chainman. Ted Comber is the Cub-master, a job he is giving a great deal of enthusiasm. With h5 lively Cubs enrolled in S dens, the Pack is off to a flying start. Boys from the Scout and Explorer Scout troops are helping the Den Mothers put this program over. Another new interest is the Adult Recreation Committee's square dancing project. Mrs. Russell Spivey is in charge of this group. The increasing numbers attending her well-planned evenings of dancing are finding that they are meeting many more of the people in our friendly community, as well as having fun swinging to the old-time music. The cafeteria, with Mrs. Gordon Engeler as chairman and Mrs. Harold Wright as manager, has furnished hot lunches at minimum cost. This has contributed much to the well-being of the students. Because of the fine work of the Summer-Round-Up committee, the P.T.A. has received a certificate of merit. Mrs. Carl Harris is the chairman of the committee, which can help every beginning child start his schooling with a good health record. Mr. Paul Gakstatter and his Safety committee are continuing their efforts to make our community safety-minded. The Mothers' Study Club has had an outstanding program this year. All of the mothers enrolled have been very eager to hear the excellent course given by Mrs. Richard Maxwell who is the leader of this group. The P. T. A. has had wonderful cooperation from the school administration, the teachers, and the parents. It has tried to reflect your interests, and to activate as many of them as possible. With your support, it will become more the kind of organization you want. The 19h9-50 officers are:--Mrs. Clarence Ripley, president--Mr. Weldon Morgan, vice-president-Mrs. Adolf Schmidt, treasurer--Mrs. Arnold Mason, secretary-- Mrs. Robert Coolman, historian. NBOOU Club The Fathers' UBOOU Club is taking this opportunity to congratulate the 1950 senior graduating class. we also wish to express our thanks for the fine co- operation which we have received from the community, students, and faculty. It is our sincere wish that we will be able to continue to serve you and continue to promote a better and more complete program for the years to come. Watts Starkey President Albert Hardin V. President Clifford Reese Secretary Harry Conarroe Treasure 50
