JUNIOR CLASS PLAY Mrs. Krueger, Director ROW 1: Carol Cook, Rollin Edgar, Carol Schrock, Jim Kissel, Karen Mohr. ROW Z: Alice Jeanne Hilty, Janet Seibel, Tom Slagle, Roger Evans, Eldean Krieger. HCREWCUTS AND LONGHAIRSH The lights were dimmed, a hush filled the room, the curtains slowly opened. The Junior class play was under way. The play takes place in the home of Sam Vigor, who is the football coach. His star player, Biff Watherspoon, succeeded in flunking his English test, thereby making himself ineligible for the big game. Elwood Drooper, the English teacher, agreed to give him another chance for the sake of the school. Gloria King, Franis actress sister, has come for a visit and flirts with Biff right in front of Louise Fuller, Biff' s girlfriend. Louise is coaching Biff for his second test in hopes he'll pass. Corney, Biff's younger sister, and Archer Renford, Cor-, ney's boyfriend, try to help Biff also. Archer hypnotizes Biff and Elwood, changing their characters around, Elwood, now Biff, meets Rock Thornton, who is scouting for the col- lege team. Elwood, who doesn't know the punt from the goalpost, finds himself the star of the team for the big game. Meanwhile, Biff, now Elwood, has prepared a speech on the attri- butes of a Shakespearean scholar. Dr. Lee Balance, a woman professor, has come to inter- view him for a job at the university. Both Elwood and Biff insist they are each other and as a result Biff is taken to an institution. By now Corney and Archer are desperate to try and break the trance before the situation becomes worse. They succeed in breaking Biff and Elwood's trance, but at the same time they hypnotize Dr. Balance and Rock Thornton, characters are also exchanged. It was a wonderful play, and the cast did a wonderful job with their individual parts.
