Here we were, starting on a grand new adventure-on our own for three whole days! We wonder if the B. 81 O. has finally recovered from the effects of the Delta junior Class trip. The porter is probably still sweeping up pillow feathers. The hardier souls who were awake at 6:00 A. M. the next morning saw a beautiful view of the Potomac river, with the mountains in the distance. At last we were in Nllashington, the grand old city itself, and from the station we went on a preliminary tour of the Capital city, that included the F. B. I. building, the mint and the Smith- sonian Institution. At noon we were back at our hotel. Xllhen it seemed as if we would rather collapse on our beds, we left instead for George W'ashington's homestead, Mount Vernon. The following day's schedule included the Capitol building, and some even managed a glimpse through the Supreme Court building. VVe toured Annapolis Academy Qwheie all the handsome sailors arej, and spent the evening on a moonlight cruise on the Potomac. The last morning we were free to do whatever we wished. But it was a hard decision to make. There were so many things to seel However, almost everyone went to the XN'ashington Monument. Some even climbed to the top-all 52 flights of it! All things must end, however, and we had to bid 21 reluctant farewell, to Vlfashington. VVhen we hnally arrived home, after our first brief fling at independence, we were all very tired but very, very happy. C245

BEST FOOT FORWARD ln spite of the old bug-a-lloo of in-iday the 13, the seniors presented their class play. Best Foot Forwardf' on April 13 to an enthusiastic audience. This year's play was the well known Broadway and Hollywood success which dealt with the difficulties faced by Bud lBill Schrockj when he invited a well known movie star tGlenda Lou Alspaughj to his senior prom, much to the dismay of his steady QNita Baughl! Bud's roommates Q-lerry Tuckerman and Tom Studerj, along with his other buddies tArchie Buchanan and Leon Mannj, tried to get him out of the ensuing trouble, but only succeeded in antagonizing their girls lLois Arnold. Gret llinterhoif and JoAnn Evansl and the rough and tumble proverbial blind date tjean Sindelj. The movie star's press agent Uack Shortj tried to get some favorable publicity through the local reporter fp Paul Sheltj but instead got some notoriety for the actress when the jilted girls tore the clothes off her. Of course. the principal lxljaul Tedrowj, the professor Qon McQuillinj and the chaperon tOpal Mae Greenj were taken aback by this violent display of youthful hi-jinks but the Old Grad QDick Segristl was happy because now XYinsocki Prep School was able to obtain first class football players through the resulting publicity. Best Foot Forwardu was under the direction of Mr. Norman Klee and the production staff included: Althea Terwilliger, Doris Mcliibben, Modesta Neville, jack Eickholt, Valerie LaMont, Marilyn Tracy, Tena VVinseman and Nancy Currier.
