A. 4 It's really hard to explain to you just how a graduate feels: Vv'e're sorry to leave our school falthough this sorrow we try to concealj. But still vve're looking forward to this new, bright life in which we'll dwell, So when people ask if we're sorry or glad we're graduating, which it is we just can't tell. But we leave this book so we can relive these years which held such happy days g And here are just a few remembrances as we go along our way. Remember that paper cutter, in the ofhce, that squeaked but never cut?? Remember that tough algebra problem that had you in a deep, dark rut?? Remember that important basketball game we won in the last few seconds of play ?? Remember that day you were throwing paper wads and got yourself caught, much to your dismay?? Remember that solo you had in the band and you went and hit a glaring wrong note ?? Remember when you'd go to your locker for your coat, and everything else came out but that coat?? Yes, in these four years, we've had our ups and downs, we've lost and then again we've won But through victory and defeat we have to admit we've sure had loads of fun. So, when we're lonely and feeling gray, we'l1 open up this Del-I-Ii Diary and say, Hi Delta and all my friends, with you it's always a pleasure to remember my high school days. FINGER '

SENIOR CLASS PLAY First Row: Rachel Soles, Sharon Keller, Janis Shrull, Shirley Rycheher, .lane Finger, Gerry Bernath Second Row: Mr. Klee, Bonnie Buyer, Glen Mattin, Bob Smith, Paul Galbraith, Allen Segrist, Chuck Hunt, Mary ,lane Gearig, Anna Mae Clay The 1947 Broadway hit, '6Years Ago by Ruth Gordon. was presented by the Senior Class on April 8, 1949. The autobiographical play dealt with the problems of Ruth Uams Shrullj and .her mother CSharon Kellerj in telling father QGlen Mattinj that she wanted to be an actress and getting his consent. Father's great desire was to make Ruth a physical culture instructor so he invited the two finest physical specimens he knew, Mr. Bagley fChuck Huntj and Miss Glavin Uane Fingerj, to come to his home and show Ruth and mother the value of Indian clubs. Katharine CShirley Rychenerj and Anna QGerry Bernathj, Ruth's.best friends, did all they could to comfort Ruth by reading the latest Theatre Arts magazine to her and show- ing her the latest photographs of a stage star's private life. Mother and father had their troubles too, for father couldn't see why they had a gro- cery bill of two dollars every week and why Muffins, the cat, had to have special meat. The installation of the latest crank style telephone also caused a crisis in the Jones' household. The stage crew, under the direction of Bob Smith as stage manager, had a very effec- tive stage showing, the old-fashioned dining-sitting room of 1913. The long skirted cos- tumes of the girls also lent a very nostalgic charm to the play. Complications ensued when Ruth finally told of her desire to go on the stage, especially with her Harvard boy friend, Fred QAllen Segristj, but father aided instead of hindered and all ends well with the arrival of Mr. Sparrow CPaul Galbraithj, who owned a wagon, for Ruth's trunk and her departure for the Broadway stage. P. S. She ended up a star and playwright. The Senior Class would like to thank Mr. Klee for directing na very successful class play.
