A dramatized version of the hit novel- XYe Shook the Family Tree shook the auditorium of Delta Hi on April 21. 1950. The mirth-provoking play presented the problems of Hildegarde tCarol LaSallej and her fa1nily when she tried to get out of a tixed up date with Freddie tDean Kellerj, the only boy in town who wore knickers! But Mother fBetsy Sheltj and Father tllave Beattyj had no intention of offending Fred.die's Mom tMareia Koesterj and Dad C-lim Nofzingerl, who happened to be the president of the bank. Sally tMargaret Brattonj, Hildegarde's kid sister, tried to help by making Hildegarde beautiful with beauty mud, but the brothers tArt lllelch and Arthur XYhitakerj only laughed at her attempts-they were more inter- ested in girls tSue Segrist and Donna Fortneyjl Even the little girl next door tElsie lieiserj made for confusion by mailing old love letters around the neighborhood. Everything ended well when Freddie succeeded in getting long pants but not until l-lildegarde caused a series of family crises. The play was under the direction of Mr. Klee.
