wmv- ,.-.w. ..,.v .. ...fa VY., .Y .-. ..,.,,, ,TM ww Junior Activities The Junior Class carries on many of the school activities which make the social life more pleasant. The Juniors sponsor the banquet and dance which are held to honor the Seniors. They spend much time and no little thought in planning elaborate decorations and in arrang- ing an attractive program for this gala occasion. The trip which is also arranged for the Seniors is another Junior responsibility as well as pleasure. In order to have money for these 'do'sN the Juniors hold food sales give plays, and sponsor dances and parties. The Junior Class started out the new year with a bang by sponsoring a party on January 12th. This party was to make money and the entire high school group was invited. A very pleasant evening was spent danc- ing by music from a Juke box. The refreshments of punch and cookies were enjoyed by all. On March 5rd we sponsored a food sale in Clarksville and Eolia. The proceeds from this sale went into the fund for a Senior trip and banquet. The Juniors were very proud to take part in the Christmas program. Irene Graue and Mary Akers were readers for the tableaux. Don Jenkins played the part of Joseph in one scene. Jimmie Magee, Alfred Baumann, and James Wheeler were kings. The Girls' Glee Club furnished appro- priate music for the tableaux. The Junior Class held a meeting early in the school year to elect officers and a sponsor. The officers were as follows, Irene Graue, President, Don Jenkins, Secretary, Jerry McDannold, Treasurer, Phoebe Steele, Reporter, and Mr. Taylor, Sponsor. Our Student Council repree sentative were, Mary Akers and Alfred Baumann. Those on the Annual Staff were Eva Harriman and Biny Davidson. Four members of our Junior Class were selected to work on the Paper Staff, namely--Phoebe Steele, Eva Harriman, Irene Graue, and Don Jenkins. We are proud to claim several Junior classmen on the Basketball squads. The girls on the team were Eva Harriman, Irene Graue, Mary Akers, Bette Dewey, and Biny Davidson. The boys on the team were Jerry McDannold, one of the first five, and Don Jenkins, Charlie Carlton, Alfred Baumann, and Jimmie Magee helped to make the Second team with James Wheeler, Assistant Manager of the team. Six Juniors were members of the Glee Club, Cordelia Barber, Dorothy Windmiller, Alice Ann Shepherd, Betty Bryant, Phoebe Steele, and Biny Davidson. The Band members from our class were Eva Harriman, Phoebe Steele, Biny Davidson, Jerry McDannold, Don Jenkins, Charlie Carlton, Charles Callison, Jimmie Magee, and James Wheeler. Most of our Junior girls seemed to be interested in the Pep Squad and we claimed four of the six Cheer-leaders--namely, Phoebe Steele, Eva Harriman, Mary Akers, and Irene Graue. During the lst semester Jimmie Magee and Jerry McDannold held the position as librarians. The second semester Irene Graue, Mary Akers, and Alfred Baumann were assinged as librarian.
