l O12 - S 6 5 At the befinning of the year the Senior Class rip to St. Louis to see Shakespeare's NAs You Like t,u starring Katherine Hepburn as Rosiland. We enjoyed this very much as we had been studying HAS You Like Itn in English classes. Ne sponsored a Christmas party and dance, inviting the entire high school. This was nct only the first party of the year, but ovr first at R-lll High School. The evening was pronounced an outstandkina success by everyone. Pat Cohea, tary hryant, Sue Sitton, Carol Taylor land Doris Jensen are in the Glee Club, Doris is the accompanist. In rand Sue Sitton, Pat Cohea, Patsy Black and Louise Mackey play clarlnets, Ra Tannehill is Nr. laylor's pride and joy Che plays the susaphoneg, and Eddie Akers plays the baritone. Out of a class of twelve there were seven taking part in the Christmasproyram: Eddie Akers, Nary Eryant,Bat Cohea, Sue Sitton, Carol laylor, and Joris Jensen assisted in providing thenuslc and Louise hackey played a leading part in the tablear. Five Senior girls were on the Basketball team. They were Ruby Akers, Lorene Moore, Doris Jensen, Sue Sitton, and tary Bryant Eddie Akers and Delbert Govero played on the boys team and even though we d1dn't have a very successful season, they both had a good time playing' ball and wish they weregpoinff to be here to play another year. Sue Sitton and Louise Mackey were the cheerleaders from the Senior Class, the rest of the girls helpediw make the noise. The Pep Squad was very faithful followina the teams to all the yames which was Vreatly appreciated by the boys. hr. Eashwas our Pep Squad sponsor and we think he did a fine job. Our class is well represented in elective offices in the school as tary Bryant is President of the Student Council, Sue Sitton is Editor.of the Yearbook, also Art Editor and Pep Re- porter of the paoer, and Louise Lackey is Editor of the Spotlite and President of the Pep Squad. In the sprinr we presented the play, NA Ready Wade Familyn, a three-act comedy by Jay Tobias. lhe cast were as follows: Afnes Nartyn, a widow --------- ---Mary Bryant Eob, her son ------------------- Ray Tannehlll Narllee, her elder daughter- ------ Sue Sitton Gracie, her younger daughter--Patricia Cohea Liss Lydia, her sister-in-law---Carol Taylor Venry lurner, a widower ---------- Eddie Akers Doris, his dau'hter ------------- uoris Jensen Sallie, his daurhter -------------- Ruby Akers beyonis, colored cook ----------- Lorene Noore Licodemus, coloredkandy man---Delbert Govero Assistant uirector and Pronptor-Lotbe hackey Stage and Property Nanager ------- Patsy Black lhls Senior Glass will have the distinction of beinp the first tote graduated from our new R-Ill Hiyh School. Ne wish to extend every food wish to the classes which will follow and to everyone who is working to promote this forward movement in the education of the youth of our re-organized district.
