The band under the direction of Mr. Alleman has had a very successful year. There are 55 members and with only 4 seniors leaving. The prospects for next year are very good. The band has received some new equipment. The Band Parents bought skirts for the girls to Wear during concert season. There were many activities at which the band played during the summer months. They marched at the Pigeon Jubilee, Sebewaing Centennial, Elkton Home coming and the Huron County Fair. A summer band was organized, which put on seven concerts. Pigeon can be very proud of their band for they received many honors. At the Marching festival they received 2nd over all the bands and lst in class C bands. A lst rating was received at the district contest. At the state contest they were 1 of 6 bands in the state to receive a lst. 8070 of the members that went to the solo and contest received a lst. The Band marched at all the home football games and the pep Band played at all the home basketball games. During the year the band presented 3 concerts. The Christmas concert with the vocal department as guests. The Winter concert with the M. S. C. Faculty Brass Quartet as guests. The Quartet held a clinic for all the brass of the bands in Huron County. The last concert is the spring concert with the Elkton Band as guests. They will play half of the concert. Marching in the Memorial Day Parade closed the year, making a total of 35 performances for the band. E .2 The Pep Band was active during the win- ter, playing for pep rallies and at home basketball games. Their music added much to the spirit of these events. Members of the Pep band were volunteers from the concert band.
