Included in the latter are bookkeeping, accounting, and general math. The academic department includes algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. A firm knowledge of mathe- matics will prove to be of indispensable value to the well- equipped student, even if his life's work does not fall into a field which uses math. Miss Lois Mrs. Evelyn Mr. William McKay Tryon Vandergrift The student of foreign languages may be studying Latin, French, German, or Spanish, or a combination of two of these languages. A knowledge of the cultural background of the foreign country is developed con- comitantly with the skills of comprehending, speaking, reading and writing its language. Competence in these areas increases with each successive year of language study. The demands of our Space Age with its constantly shrinking distances make a knowledge of foreign lan- guages a necessary tool of communication in todayls world.
