I'm going on a trip to France by T. W. A. Airlines. Ohl By the way, l'm DAVE BERNARDEZ, known as the happy wanderer, because I haven't found the right girl yet and I haven't settled In any one place. When I boarded the plane, much to my surprise, the stewardess was PAT HOUSEL, one of my old classmates. Pat told me that she and the pilot are planning to be married soon. That will end her career, because as you know, a stewardess must be single. The plane next stopped at Kansas City where two more of our former classmates boarded the plane. RICHARD WILLIAMS, still a bachelor, was on his way to an engineering job in New York. Richard has dozens of pretty girls after hlm, but he thinks they're only after his money. And LINDA LAWRENCE who went to business school in Kansas City. Linda was on her way to her first real iob in an I. B. M. plant in New York. She is engaged and plans to marry soon. Her future plans include two children. I Linda told us about some of our other classmates that have kept in touch with ' her. The first was CAROL THOMAS who went to college and now teaches in the beauti- ful new school that was built in our home town, Pierpont. Carol is engaged to a wonder- ful man and plans to be married within the next year. ALICE MANN, like Carol, became a teacher after getting her degree at Olivet College. She is teaching in Pierpont now and is looking for the right person to alter her plans for the future. CAROL BROWN has a iob in an office building in Youngstown as aComptometer Operator. Carol was always the shy one in our class. She never met the right one so she is still single. MARY ALLEN after graduating in May left for California to become an Airline Hostess. The plane was now coming in for a landing at the Cleveland Airport. Here we saw two more of our old classmates. CAROL SPEER told us she went to business school and is now o secretary for a very promising young lawyer here in Cleveland. She is married to her boss and they now have four lovely children. DIANE WILCHER said she went to Cosmetology School and now operates her own shop in her home. She finally married the boy she had a crush on ln high school and they have five very wonderful children. Diane and Carol told us about the classmates that they had seen recently. DAVID MARCY had started a Real Estate Business of his own and is doing very well. He married Connie and has two lovely children. BARRY PINKNEY went into the Air Force right after graduation for four years. He returned to start a cattle business. Barry married and now has three children. RUSSELL SMEGAL became a mechanic after serving four years in the Air Force. Russell is planning to marry and have a house full of children. DICK CAMPBELL married a very sweet girl from Pierpont before he went into the army. When he returned he built his own home and now owns a big dairy farm. JOHN MOKRI, un- believably, became an explorer of space. He became the first man to explore the planets. John hasn't found the right girl yet, but is still looking for her. The plane made a five hour stop at Cleveland to make repairs so all of us decided to .go see a fonner classmate of ours, Mary Jane Partch Wiser, who quit school to marry Raymond. They moved to Cleveland where they are still living with their two lovely children. 43' 4 .ki in 'K' 1 . dai! r as y Q Q Q gg The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane if Paiiy kk .Xiu lcfied C Teo' Charlie Brown Dave Russell Uu r Youth I I Was Ll ke u sic Kookie Lend Me Your Comb Diane Joy Ride Carol S. A Nine members of the original union remain. They are Dave Marcy, Dick Campbell, Alice Mann, Russell Smegal, Linda Lawrence, Patty Housel, Carol Brown, Mary Allen and John Mokri. Our first foreman was Mrs. Porter.. During the year we lost Don Chapin, Ed Hritz, Don Dodge, Jim Wiser, Anna Chapin, Jean Heath, Joan Balint, and Yvonne Morik. ln the second year we were managed by Mrs. Cork and Mrs. Baber. We gained Carol Speer, Allen Spenser,'Richard Williams, Dave Bemardez, Fred Upperman, and Sandra Wolfe. We lost Peggy Russell, Nancy Palmer, Ada Frew, Don Stelmetz, Betty Mills, Donald Headley, and Bob Dain. The next year, led by Mrs. Carlson, we gained Jim Terrill, Gordon Georgia, and Virginia Campbell, and lost David Hoplight, Pandy Emerson, and Fred Upperman. We entered our fourth year with only one new pupil, Thad Taylor, whom we lost that year along with Allen Spenser, Sandra Wolfe, Gordon Georgia, and Virginia Campbell. Our labor leader was Mrs . Carlson. We celebrated our fifth anniversary with the addition of three new pupils, Bob Slovick, Ronnie Hewitt, and Fred Wells. Our foreman was Mrs. Collingwood. In the sixth year we were managed by Mr. DeMarco and Mrs. Collingwood. We gained Donna Lewis who left that year along with Jim Terrill, Bob Slovick, Ronnie Hewitt, and Fred Wells. Led by Mrs. Wells the following year, we gained Bill Skarl ing and Tracy Sumey. We entered the new addition in our eighth year. Our home office manager was Mr. McCluskey We were jolned by Diane Wilcher, and Liz Mayle who also left that year. Although Mr. Gregory was our office manager in the ninth year, we had gained enough seniority to elect department officers. We chose Hazel Svenson, president, Dave Bemardez, vice-president, Mary Jane Partch, secretary, Carol Speer, treasurer, and Dave Marcy and Diane Wilcher, QStudent Councili representatives. Sue Fassnacht,Dave Beck, and Norma Beck ioined us then, while we lost Alice Leonard, Tracy Sumey, and Bill Skarllng. Mr. Gregory remained to manage us the following year when we gained and lost lda Chapin along with Hazel Svenson. Our governing body consisted of Patty Housel, president, Richard Williams, vice-president, Linda Lawrence, secretary, John Mokri, treasurer, and Mary Jane Partch and Diane Wilcher, representatives. ln our eleventh year we lost Sue Fassnacht, Norma Beck, and David Bech while gaining Carol Thomas and Barry Pinkney. Going all out for activities, we presented a play called So Very Young for the entire labor force and sunounding community. We also sponsored a Prom, using Neptune as our theme, for our superiors, the Class of '58, who were to leave in the spring. Our officers were Dick Campbell, president, Richard Williams, vice-president, Linda Lawrence, secretary, and Patty Housel, treasurer. Mary Jane Partch and John Mokri were our representatives. Our manager was Mrs . Fee. Mary Jane Partch left us in our twelfth year. We were told by our foreman, Mrs. Kobernik, that we were no longer eligible to work here. We would have to leave the company through graduation. Though terribly disappointed, we were determined to have one last fling before going out- separate ways. Under the direction of Dick Campbell, president, Carol Thomas, vice-president, Linda Lawrence, secretary, Carol Speer, treasurer, and Russell Smegal and Diane Wilcher, representatives, we sponsored many fund-raising proiects. These included dances, skating parties, candy sales, and our one-act play, Theme-Song for the Married . Using the proceeds from these activities we took a trip to New York City in June. Yes, we draw compensation for our labor. lt's good to be out, but we'll never forget where we learned our basic skills. She was always around when you needed a hand, You might have found her with Carol, If you'd lust l Her greatest achievement? She edited this bookl There's DICK CAMPBELL, our class president. Remember the money we earned and spent? We went to New York, you want to know why? 'Cause Dick kept us working, he's sure a great guy. CAROL SPEER'S the girl who starred in our play, Referee'd the girls' team many a day, Led our cheers, and hoarded our 'dough'. Don't say she was idle, for it iust wasn't so. DAVE MARCY tried hard to keep wide awake, But, sometimes, doing this took more than a shake. He was always ready to have some fun, When he happened to be back here from Madison. ALICE MANN, you remember, was a friendly lass, Hoo began as a member of the original klass. When she rote our features, she rote them quite well And, wonder of wonders, we found she could spell. This was the boy: height, six foot three, Who drew the covers for our Varlety. . He ioined us last year, as our class increased, That's BARRY PIN KNEY, the last but not least. Hailing from the state known to us as Lone Star, ls MARY ALLEN who will no doubt go far. California's her goal, she's heading out West, 00 I Where fruits grow much faster, and the sunshlne's the best. Class' Poem There's DAVE BERNARDEZ, a short guy with spunk, Who never admitted that his side was sunk. Although he peeved teachers by arriving late, He'd usually come in, if they'd only wait. CAROL BROWN'S quiet humor made us all smile, So, we couldn't help laughing once in a while. She found her interest in riding horses More pleasant than most of her high school courses. And here's RICHARD WILLIAMS, called Dick or Ted There's very few things he's not seen or read Or lheard, as In muslc, the type he'd dote on, Such as 'Leonore Overture' by Ludwig Von. PATTY HOUSEL took part in many sports. Basketball, bowling, and other sorts, Riding horses and skating were included too. It just goes to show what ambitlon can do. JOHN MOKRl'S the boy behind the scene, Who managed to manage our basketball team. When he took part In our play, led by Mrs. Fee, We discovered his talent. It was singing off key. Another Iatecomer made up for lt, though, Since CAROL THOMAS joined us a year ago. She liked our high school, that's absolute. Her favorite activity? Why, playing her flute. And then there's Pickle, RUSS SMEGAL'S his name. His basketball playing won county acclaim. He played some baseball, was good at it, too, But, was always happiest when that big ball went through That's DIANE WILCHER, the last on the list. When the room became quiet, she was sure to be missed But iust to be fair, l'll quiet your fears, For how else could a cheerleader practice for cheers? By Carol Thomas - EQQDWQE iiviifg W?
