At the beginning ofa very busy year the Juniors elect- ed class officers as follows: Lynn Pletcher, presidentg Jean Roberts, vice-presidentg Virginia Manuel, secretary: and Mary Kilgore, treasurer. The vice-president of the Junior year acts as sales manager by ordering merchan- dise for the junior room. Caroline Conrad and Max Spann were chosen to represent the Junior class in the Student Council. Miss Tuttle and Mr. Hall were the Juniors' sponsors this year. The first exciting event was the day the Juniors received their class rings. To start the activity of the year to obtain funds for their senior trip, the Juniors sponsored a sock hop on October 4. They also sold Christmas cards and candy. The class was divided into two teams headed by Jean Roberts and John Kinch. John's losing team provided a chili supper and a dance on February 20 for the winning team. -em A its si' .. i Janice Blanchard and Roger Miller sold the most cards. Next came the class party, which was a hayride. They went by tractor and wagons to Collamer Dam for a wiener roast and then to a show in South Whitley. The Juniors sponsored two more sock hops, one on November 22 after, the South Whitley game and the other after the Etna Green game on January 3. Bobbi .To Leifer, Barbara Slusher, and Pat Camden were nominated by the class for basketball queen candi- dates. Bobbi Io was crowned queen at the half of the Mentone game on December 20. Papa Was A Preacher was presented on April 18. Becky White was chosen to attend Girls State, and Mary Kilgore was the alternate. Lynn Pletcher and Max Spann were chosen to attend Boys State.
