Part, there Flowers Yellow rose all the honor liesn and blue delphinium The National Thespian Society is an educational organization estab lished for the advancement of dramatic arts in high school The aims of the Society are ill to establish excellent phases ir dramatic arts and C27 to create an active interest in dramatic arts in all high schools The National Thespians Society was established in 1929 by a group of teachers at Fairmount State College, Fairmount, West Virginia The Pierceton Thespian Society is Troupe 71 At the present time the Society has troupes in M8 states and foreign countries and has a member ship of 170,000 The National Thespian Society is an 'honor' or nrecognition society in the sense that students are granted membership for having performed meritorious work in dramatic arts and have met the membership qualifica tions of their respective troupes Tre opportunity given a studert to qualify for the Thespian member ship is a wholesome educational incentive The training and discipline which the student acquires are the results or continued efforts towards a definite goal Out of this educational experience is created a last ing interest in the dramatic arts and a greater appreciation of them The Thesplan pledge of membership places upon the student the oblige tion of assuming greater tasks and responsibilities in carrying forward the dramatic arts program of the school.
