PIEDMONT VS. LINCOLN Alas, the Alumni biggie was at hand with the DOGS facing former 3A powerhouse Lincoln. Greg Watts's two field goals in the first half Cincluding one of 40 yardsb sparked the DOGS , and by the time the Homecoming sweeties were escorted from the field , the DOGS marked their record 4-2 by shutting out Lincoln 19-0 . PIEDMONT VS. WEST END The DOGS started slow but found no difficulty building momentum racking up 370 yards total offense and the defense sacking the Patriot quarterback a total of seven times. Pushing their record to 5-2, the DOGS smothered West End 31-'7 . PIEDMONT VS. CENTRE Once again the DOGS were up against our archrival called Cherokee County. Only last year the DOGS had stung the Warriors with a 32-26 upset. Tension was high as both teams played a very physical game. Centre finally attained a definite lead and their defense never conceded as the DOGS lost this one 12-7 . PIEDMONT VS. ALEXANDRIA Death Valley was the setting for an established rivalry between Alexandria , a new 3A contender and our dear ol' PHS DOGS . The game went to the very last second and proved to be a heartbreaker for the DOGS who lost it 14-10. PIEDMONT VS. SARDIS Trick or treat! The seniors of '76 were faced with an awesome finale: the unde- feated Sardis Lions who stopped by on their way to the State Playoffs. It seemed that everyone had one of those nights fexcept the bandly as Sardis pulled it off 26-13 -Sports Editor C. H. Green

PIEDMONT VS. WEAVER With summer finally over, the nitty gritty had come. The DOGS anxiously awaited the dawning of a new season. Before the I.E. Club had sold out of programs the DOGS had two quick scores. An unyielding defense shut out Weaver 14-0 . PIEDMONT VS. HOKES BLUFF Oh my gosh! A very underrated team came here from the Bluff. In the first half they stopped everything the DOGS had except the water crew. In the second half, however, a very tough DOG defense allowed only two first downs. Our two touch- downs were not enough as the Bluff took this one 17-14. PIEDMONT VS. WHITE PLAINS Yawn! Action was null in the first half until two quick Bennett-to-Russell combina- tions late in the second quarter put the DOGS ahead 14-O . PIEDMONT never let up and finished the Wildcats 20-0. Oh! and would the P please move over five yards? PIEDMONT VS. ASI-IVILLE It was DOG eat Dog all night as PIEDMON T ran over, passed over, and completely out hustled the winless Ashville team . The O.J. scored three touchdowns as the offense rolled beating Ashville 38-7 . PIEDMONT VS. ODENVILLE Brrr . . . A bit of cold weather accompanied the DOGS to Odenville Cwhen we finally found Odenvilleb . Flags flew often as the DOGS were penalized for every- thing except going in at half time .
