Leads ot ln a Mission Garden -June 4 3 Father Serra as portrayed in l930 MUSIC DEPARTMENT Year after year, the music department, under the quidance ot Mr. Kenneth Dodson, qrows biqqer and better. This year, new band unitorms, donated by the Dads' Club, the orqanizinq ot a dance band, more pretentious work tor the choir, and obvious improvement ot the orchestra marked the proqress ot the music department. The Northern Calitornia Music Contest in San Jose, the Sprinq Music Festival at the Greek The- ater, and the 'Piedmont Sprinq Concert will be thc best remembered events ot the year, thouqh stu- dents will not torqet their part in the Christmas proqram and commencement exercises. Nor will choialists lolqel the time they broadcast Christ- mas carols trom the Central Banlc. or their carol- inq lor the Home Club-a qreat honor, as Home Club selects only the best. Voted the qreatest success ot the year was the second annual ski trip, in which titty members ot the qlee club, band, and orchestra spent tour days at Sardine Lakes clurinq the Christmas vacation, havinq a qlorious. thouqh not especially musical, time.
