DYE SY a a dois SORT AR TNE PHONE (919) 725-8344 716 FRANKLIN STREET WINSTON-SALEM, N. C. 27101 May 16, 1975 Dear Fellow Students: This year the Fanal staff has chosen to center the theme of our book around its title — FANAL. The Fanal was named in 1947. It is a Greek word describing the beam of light which radiates from a lighthouse or lamp. The Bible often refers to our Lord Jesus Christ as the light of the world. As His servants we are given the privilege of acting as beams which carry His light to a world lost in darkness. We hope that this years Fanal will be meaningful to you - not only for the memories it contains but also because of the truth it symbolizes. This then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness atvall) (he Johner: 5). In Christ, sApaes. ‘ Wuthe, TMicraho, rol 3 ure, Wee FANAL Staff 1975 Th e whole world was lost in the darkness of sin, The Light of the world is Jesus; Like sunshine at noonday His glory shone in, The Light of the world is Jesus. No darkness have we who in Jesus abide, The Light of the world is Jesus; We walk in the Light when we follow our Guide, The Light of the world is Jesus. Ye dwellers in darkness with sin blinded eves, The Light of the world is Jesus: Go, wash, at His bidding, and light will arise, The Light of the world is Jesus. No need of the sunlight in heaven we're told, The Light of that world is Jesus; The Lamb is the Light in the City of Gold, The Light of that world is Jesus. - Come to the Light, ’tis shining for thee; Sweetly the Light has dawned upon me; Once I was blind, but not I can see: The Light of the world is Jesus. Then in 1970, Dr. CHa Stevens handed over his P.B.C. responsibilities to President Donald Drake iedmont along with his wife, and fot Into the classroom he brought a reviving interest in missions and people. Under his leadership we have seen an expansion or our curriculum, and increase in the student body, and the erection of two new = buildings. In the summer of 1974 Tennessee Temple Schools honored President Drake and our school when they gave thim an Honorary Doctorate (L.L.D.). Following the steps of a great man, Dr. Drake has filled well his position.
