Chuck Gremmels Ty Cobb Jim Herrold George Hall Pickstown High, with its largest group of track participants in school history, finished out a highly successful season by tak- ing a 2nd place at the state track meet held in Mitchell, May Z0 and 21. Besides those pictured here who lettered, many others helped to make our track season successful. Those being W. Fisk, D. Hendicksen, B. Kautzer, G. Kirwan, L. Meisner, B. Meyers, M. Nanos, B. Anderson, T. Brokaw, J. Flaherty, D. Hage, J. Livingston, J. Mundis, C Massey, and D. Stairs. Our biggest stars were Guy Rhoades who won lst place in both the high and low hurdles at the state track meet and also won a 4th in the high and broad jumps there and our 880 relay team that tied for lst place at the conference track meet at Springfield. Those composing the winning relay them were Jim Herrold, Ty Cobb, Chuck Gremmels, and Bob Davenport. Another member of the track team who brought honor to our school was Bruce Shiels, who did very well throughout the sea- son in the pole vault.
