PHS Presents: 1980 RED DEVIL Changes In Latitudes Changes In Atitudes pg- 7 Administration 15 High School 43 Jr. High 49 Elementary P9- 71 Favorites 91 Sports 105 Organizations 119 Advertisements Editor’s Message As Editor of the 1981 Red Devil annual. I have found out the real meaning of the words responsiblity and cooperation. Without the help of the staff, Mrs. Smith and many others this annual would never have been finished. This year has taught me that even when everthing has gone wrong and your deadlines are two weeks overdue, there is still hope. I would like to express my deepest thanks to Mrs. Mamie Smith and Mr. James Hardin who have kept me calm, and helped me in any way they could. 1981 Red Devil Editor-In-Chief X xvn Srv. Terri Singleton 2 Dedication This yearbook is dedicated to a man that has a very warm spot in all of our hearts. His sincere support of our school, students and community is total. In the dark of night or light of day, Doc. is a person that is committed to serving our school. There is no job too small or large for him to tackle. To Doc and his family, we say, Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to know and have such a friend.” Memoriam Susan Annie Mae Trull was the daughter of Thom- as Q. and Emma C. Welch. ADMINISTRATION Superintendent’s Message The school year of 1980-81 is now a part of the past. But because its memory has been so care- fully preserved in the pages of this yearbook, the past days, weeks, and months will remain alive and vital to us throughout the years to come. To the yearbook staff and faculty adviser, we are deeply grateful, for they have presented us with a permanent record of important goals and achieve- ments during this time in our lives. a. C. Creighton Owen Superintendent Principal’s Message Dear Friends: Thank you for a tremendous effort. May the experiences you have had be as rewarding to you as being associated with such a fine group of young adults has been for me. Remember to walk a mile in a man’s moccasins before being so quick to be critical — God bless you all. Sincerely. Assist. Principal Elem. Director Another great job! Congratulations to the Annual Staff on another fine publication which will record the achievement and fun times for many years to come. School years only pass your way once so make the best of them and make them the most enjoyable years of your life. May only the best be with each student at P.H.S. and your most ambitous dream be real- ized. Assistant Principal Messages As recorded in the Holy Bible, there is a time to sow and a time to reap. We as teachers, parents, students, and members of the com- munity have sown seeds this year and will reap the harvest for many years to come. May this annual be a reminder of the seeds planted and the job that is ahead for each of us. These plants must be tilled with great care so there will be a bountiful harvest. Congratulations to you that have worked so faithfully in putting the events of this school year together. 10 Director of Elementary School Board Members Murphy O’Banion Secretaries And Aides High School Faculty B Moss W Creighton C.
