7978-79 Red Devil Editors Even though there were two editors, the job was still hard. These pictures illustrate some of the work that was done. The top picture illustrates cropping pictures for the yearbook. The bottom left is stamping pictures and correcting errors. The bottom right shows us going through the Senior pages. We would like to thank Mrs. Pelt and the journalism students for all the hard work that went into publishing the 1978-79 Red Devil Yearbook. EDITORS Dedication This RED DEVIL is dedicated to a man who has given 23 years of his life to teaching and to our school. He received his Bachelor Degree in 1956 and his masters in education in 1965, from McNeese State University. Teaching math, he began his first year in March 1956. L. Reid Midkiff is married to the former Jean Smart of Anacoco. They have five children, two daughters and three sons. How does one show his appreciation to such a man? One remembers ... a math problem so difficult that students needed two days to figure it out. He refused to give us an answer... a baseball coach for the summer games ... a two-foot piece of red tape called a 6 weeks report. He forgot we weren’t the math whiz that he is. One never forgets a good teacher; one remembers. then, a young teacher... now, an assistant principal. ] Pickering High School Alumni 1969 Drivers Ed. Class L to R; Harles Perkins. Jerry G. King.
